I've seen people bragging about How little they have got their games for, But how about the Highest price for Super mario?

Here are the rules:
It can't be priced by You.
You must have ssen it last year, Or this year.
You can not post what you have not seen yourself.
It can't be for The latest consoles to date.

Here are the priciest retro games i've seen:

NFL 97 (Saturn, Complete, $8 Each)
Loose game gear games $15 Each

Let's hear the priciest retro games you've seen!

$5 for SMB/Duck Hunt at a flea market....I looked at the lady "Would you go down to like a dollar for that maybe?" She got real moody...I walked away

Atari 2600 with three broken controllers...over 15 games (very common titles)...she wanted $45 for the system and $5 a piece for the games...this was at a flea market lol

A couple of months ago ebgames had a copy of smb for NES for $15.99. I had then scan it to see if it was a mistake. Nope, $15.99. Now it's listed on the website at $4.99. Dunno what that was all about.

Saw a Atari 2600 with original hookups, two working controllers and 1 game for $89.99 at a used game store. When I asked why it was so high my answer was "It's collectible."

NCAA Basketball 2003 (Cube) for thirty bucks, disc-only. it may be rare, but come on, it's a two-year-old sports game and not even in good shape. :P I also see immensely overpriced (and horribly battered) Playstation games at my local Gamestop all the time, but I can't think of any good examples at the moment...

Might've been marked as Mario Bros. (not SMB)...I've had the reverse happen, got Mario Bros. for less than a dollar at a Funco. :)

The KB Toys that was near me, it recently went out of business, had a ton of PS1 longbox sports games, as well as a copy of N64 Pokemon Puzzle League, priced at $54.99 for the longest time. They also had a bunch of copies of Genesis Desert Strike at $24.99.

Also, I'm not sure if this counts, up until the recent green tag sale, my local TRU had a few copies of SNES Battle Clash that rang up at $99.99, but only because it rang up as an Atomic Purple N64 console bundle.

I know that the whole Toys R Us clearance sale thing has solved the million dollar question: What in the hell were they smoking trying to sell all that N64 crap for full price?

WWF Attitude going for $49.99...on the shelves for at least 3 years......that is just sad.

many games for the DC, for example, still go for their RRP of $40 or so, which is what the DC goes for now. Many acclaimed SNES games including your beloved Axelay go for mroe than a stock used SNES costs. Your comment is idiotic.

Is it possible for you to make a post without flaming someone? Really now, you comment could have carried just as much meaning without that last line there.

atomicthumbs: Katamari was a full-price game in Japan...and I still would have bought it had it been a full-price game here as well. :)

Japan rahrer gets on with quirky games though. Behold the iron Chef arcade game!!!! You guys should see it, it's actually a blast to play.

I think the Katamari pricing was a good way to introduce the franchise to the market. How many good original games that have been widely acclaimed a such have piss poor sales anyway because of price? Now that KD's got the cult/cool status it does selling a sequel off at a higher price is viable. Good one Namco! (erm..'tis a Namco game yes?)

Actually it's very common for the most desired games on a system to cost more than the system itself.

Oh, I see you're banned, never mind.

Hehe, same thing here at my local EB. Wierd thing is, they have 12 SMW's, all loose ranging from mint to garbage with half a label ripped off. All at $24.99 except 2. For some reason, two of them were priced at $4.99.

Sounds awesome! I'm a diehard fan of Iron Chef (go Sakai!). So what is the arcade game like? Is it a bunch of cooking minigames or do you choose ingredients and decide how to cook them and such?
