probably because his shipping is ten bucks for a single game, feh.

Or his reserves are too high.

Edit: Bah, I need a faster modem!

well maybe i. i mean him :D doesnt want to let somebody get away with a cheap price. cuz like the dw's together are worth about how much? at least 125 especially since dw 4 has gone for as much 80 alone recently so it seems to be going up in value a little on ebay. i dont know it just hmmmmm.......... :/ here's the example for dw 4
http://search-completed.ebay.com/search/search.dll?GetResult&query=nes+dragon+warrior+4+complete&ht=1&combine=y&st=2&SortProperty=MetaEndSort those are completed items near 80 so yeah i dont know where im going with this....and again showing the value of the dw 4 game complete although this is probably just a fluke auction going for that much, but still.......

You ass. I went back through past posts and this is YOUR auction. You admitted it yourself as quoted above. But you had the NERVE to initially act as if you just "stumbled across this good deal" when all you were doing was pimping your own crap.

Congrats, you just guaranteed that I'll never give your auctions a second look. If you had ASKED why no one was bidding, you probably would've gotten some answers and a deal may have been made. However, what you did was incredibly low and you may have insured that no one else here bids on your auctions from here on out.

Suuuuure you "could give a flying fuck." You could care so less, that you pretended this was somebody else's auction just so you could initially post a "Hey, check this out!" message. Now that you've been called on it, you sufddenly start with the "I could give a shit if any of you went to it or not" attitude.

Annnnnnnnd, seeing as how you've posted all this in one of the strongest videogame collector's boards on the 'Net, all you managed to do was prove yourself to everyone here as:
1. A liar who will stoop pretty low just to get you to visit his overly-high reserved auctions.
2. An ass who has the gall to get pissed at ME when his lies are discovered and posted.
3. A douchebag just out of general principle.

Good luck with future auctions, as your rep is shot to piss around here.

No, you pulled this crap here because you know that this is where a large number of people who would recognise the value of the games you're trying to sell are, and thus (unlike all those "many" other ebay users) would be most likely to pay a high price for NES games.. high prices which are otherwise known as "collector prices" because collectors are the only ones who will pay them.

And then, when you're busted, you top it all off by acting like a total ass and thus throwing away any credibility you had as a seller.

Niiiiiiiiccccceeee.

The part that gets me is that Boredashell has been here since we moved to the new forums. You'd think that he would know better.

he should probably change his name to brokeashell

I guess I'm the only one who didn't get personally offended by that...I'm mean, what is the big deal??? Does it change the question any? Was it really all that low? I'm sorry, but get off his back and grow up guys. Maybe it wasn't right, but calling him names and going on a hissy fit saying no one is going to trade with him from now on is just immature and childish.

but why would i want to trade with someone who is dishonest and whose prices are probably too high?

most smart collectors pay dealer prices.

I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box but I sure don't pay top dollar. But then, I'm also a tightwad. I like dealing with guys like Chunky that don't set the almighty dollar as thier first priority. I would have to agree with Sniderman on this one. Like Mr. NEStalgia, I'm not offended but I don't think I trust him very much. Especially since he appears not to be worried about letting down fellow gamers on this site when there are thousands more surfing eBay that may very well pay rediculous prices. x_x

If you think your games are worth 100 dollars or 5 grand or whatever bullshit number your diseased brain came up with then start the fucking auction at that price.

The "pretend its not my auction" thing is pretty stupid but Id like to spit in your face just because I hate those dousche bags that think the value of an item is what some fucking moron payed for it on ebay one time.

Oh by the way Dragon warrior 4 is worth about 25 bux or so and I might pay that if I was looking for it. But im not and I wouldnt.
It doesnt take that much effort to scan flea markets for a couple weeks and pick one up for 5 bux.

Am I mad, or is the cartridge pictured in his Dragon Warrior 4 auction the first Dragon Warrior?

Nintendo used to give those away for getting Nintendo Power.

Actually both I and IV are pictured. In the description he says he'll throw in the first one "free".

Hey, guys? Take a deep breath, go sit in front of the Christmas tree and just cool down for a bit.
People are way too short-fused these days..
How can you consider this lying OR busted, when he is the one that admitted it was his auction without ever being asked? Obviously, his "maybe I I mean he" post wasn't an accident. So, he wanted to pimp his auction without saying it was his auction. It's not like he ripped anyone off by doing that. It's not dishonest either; he didn't lie and say they WEREN'T his auctions.

buttasuperb
12-22-2002, 12:00 AM
It's not dishonest either

Yes it is. If you want to sell something, post it as yours from the get go.

He never said it wasn't his.
I thought it was a pretty creative idea myself.

He never said the auction wasn't his, but he was leading you to believe that is wasn't.

If he was honest, it would have read: " These games and systems ARE in good condition and this is the 2nd time I listed the final fantasy, how come I'm not getting any bids."

Misleading = Dishonest = No bids from me.

Don't be an idiot.

Ah, I'm an idiot because he didn't actually lie?

buttasuperb
12-22-2002, 01:01 AM
No you're an idiot because you think that it's creative instead of misleading.

Bottom line is, if you want to advertise your auction and get more bids on it, SAY IT IS YOUR AUCTION IN THE FIRST PLACE.

punkoffgirl
12-22-2002, 01:06 AM
There's no such rule that states that.
Bottom line is, flaming someone for doing what he has done is unnecessary. It's not like he tricked anyone into doing anything, and there's a pretty good chance he might have gotten more honest answers about why no one was bidding if people didn't know it was his auction.

Sniderman
12-22-2002, 08:15 AM
I'm not gonna get into a flaming war with you POG, because "boredashell" is hardly worth that much of my ire that I'd be willing to fire up on ya. Suffice to say that I agree with everything Butta's said and disagree with everything you said. Boredashell is a dishonest seller. He lied. His initial post was pimping his own auctions while pretending he just "stumbled across them."

"LOokee here gang! THey're not getting any bids! Act now! OPerators standing by!"

Only when people began to post that they found the reserves too high and pointed out WHY no one was bidding, THAT'S when this ass confessed and defended his high reserves because"he didn't want to get screwed." So, we have the trifecta:

1. Has high reserves 'cause "that's what it's worthj on eBAy." If that's the case, have it as your opening bid.
2. Pretended he was just an innocent bystander who was doing us all a great favor by posting a link to this great deal he discovered. It's not like he admitted it right away either. Had the bids come roolling in, I daresay he would've never said a thing.
3. When the flames started, he posted he could give "a flying fuck" whether 10 or so of us from this board ever went to his action. Well, why the charade in the first place? For someone who gave a rat's ass, he sure seemed pissed when his little ruse didn't work. When called on it, he took his carts and went home Nyyyyyaaaahhhh....

With all of the lies Blake, CMTZ, and Orochi's been posting lately, I thought you of all people would be a little less understanding of someone who posts untruths and pretends to be someone they're not. I stand by my position. Boredashell is an "Ass" and "douchebag" as mentioned in previous posts.

End soapbox rant. I still love ya, POG. I just really don't think we see eye-to-eye on this one though.

Butta is right, this guy is obviously a wannabe con artist. and not only that he's trying to make gold on common stuff by touting it as rare to people who know better.

This happens way to much here, people assume that because this is a collectors site the people here are stupid game freaks with no collecting sense. So by their logic a DW4 that gets $25 on Ebay MUST go for $50 here at DP.. When in fact most of us already HAVE dw4 and got it for $1-$5 4 years ago..
