Thanks to the Toys R Us sale and quarter Game Boy Color rechargable batteries, I finally picked myself up a Game Boy Color. I had an original GameBoy from years ago but had given up on playing it. I'm not too big into handhelds, but I am looking to get some good and cheap games. Does anyone have any suggestions?
So far, I have picked up:
Operation C - awesome Contra action
Conker's whatever - amazingly bad, and I knew Conker was going to be disgustinly cute
Perfect Dark - rather... average
Zoop - okay but not half as good as the Jaguar version (what was I expecting, I guess)
Hyper Lode Runner - A classic!
A breakout clone with Mario - I forget the name.
I'm looking for a few more games that would be cheap (under $5.00) that are worth searching out. Platformers are much appreciated.
Are the Game and Watch Gallery games any good? I miss my old G&W games...

The breakout Mario clone would be Alleyway most likely.
I like the Game and Watch Galleries, but obviously the only people that will are fans of the G&W games to begin with. They're nice cause you get the originals and remix versions of the games.
I'm pretty sure theres a couple threads in the Classic Discussions forum for recommendations on other titles. Just run it through the search.

Get Beatmania GB if you can get your hands on it. The game is damn rare, but if you find one, buy it. It's awesome!

Seriously?
Damn, I saw it yesterday for about $5.00, and I skipped it because I figured it wouldn't be too good.
And I'm not looking for a list of "bests." I'm looking for a list of "good cheaps." I don't figure on playing the system too often, but about six more games for $5.00 or less wouldn't be that bad of an idea.
I want to pick up MGS now, but it was in a store that was an hour away. Damn...

Good choices with Operation C and Alleyway. :)
I recommend Tetris (DX or classic, either one's good) and Metroid II. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is another really good one. The Kirby games are also good if you come across them, I like Star Stackers a lot, myself.
Sorry not to be more helpful, I'm not much of a GB collector as those little carts get quite costly. @_@

I like the Final Fantasy Legend games.
Link's Awakening is a must-play.
The original Kirby's Dreamland is a must-play too, I can't imagine it'd cost too much on ebay or something.

Mole Mania. You can grab it for about $5 used at most game stores. One of my favorite games made on the GB platform.
