Last chance to pre-order the Digital Press Classic Video Game Collector's Guide! Pre-order now and guarantee your copy for the first batch of August shipments, which will begin immediately after the Classic Gaming Expo on Aug 10th & 11th. Better still, stop by the DP booth at the Expo and pick it up there! I received sample copies of the finished product this week and it is smokin'. You'll want to carry this one around with you wherever you go.

Hey Joe, how much is the shipping for Canada? You haven't given us an answer yet about this.
Looking forward to seeing the new DP Guide! :)

@sothy: you're covered.
@sarah: STILL don't know that, but you can pre-order now and we'll invoice the additional postage later. Shouldn't be a big deal to Canada.

@Joe: I won't preorder the guide (financial situation still unsure right now), but as soon as I land a more secure job (could be real soon... keep fingers crossed), some of my hard-earned money will certainly be heading towards your neck of the woods.

Question: What systems, games, etc. does the guide cover? I don't want to pay for a book that won't have anything I'm interested in. (I haven't checked the link yet, so forgive me if that information is mentioned there)

@BenT: you don't have to pre-order if you're going to CGE! That's the official launch. We'll have plenty there.
@MrHaboobi: we'll be sending out separate invoices for out-of-country orders. The bad news is that this one isn't going to fit in the global priority envelope ($9). The good news is that it's not going to fit in the global priority envelope (it's HUGE). :)

How much is the guide without shipping? (I pre-ordered mine. was $25.00 all together.. CHEAP!)

"Without shipping"? Well if you mean to buy from me firsthand, it's still $25. Consider the US shipping a free gift from your friends here at DP.

@Joe
I assume that it will be shipped Media Mail from your storage area in Las Vegas? Is it possible to ship some from your East Coast HQ so it doesn't take like 25 days to get to me in NY? :wink:

Speaking of which, on a different subject... how long would it take something sent by Media Mail to reach the UK from the US?

@Mayhem (and other Euro-friends): Out-of-country shipments are always via AIR MAIL. I'm pretty sure you can't even do media mail outside of the US but even if you could I wouldn't dare try it!
And Mat, you can pick yours up at CGE :)

I'm really wanting to get my first guide, but I need some help. I can either renew my subscription to EGM (24 issues for $24.97) or buy the guide. Is the guide "worth" more than 24 issues of EGM?
The only systems I collect in the guide are 2600, 7800 & NES, but those 3 alone account for over half of the 650 games I own.
I really wish I could get both, but a baby is on the way :)

Sorry Joe, was getting confused. I meant "global priority mail" heh...
Outside of couriers, there are two shipping choices from US to UK: air or surface. Given the choice between 4-7 days and 4-7 weeks (and the fact air is usually very little more costly than surface), you know which one I normally go for!
And yes, I was hoping to pick my copy up at CGE :D

This book DEFNITELY will not fit in a global priority mail envelope. The last book barely did (when I taped it up real good to keep it from bursting), so these will have to go standard air rate.
As far as "is this worth more than 24 issues of EGM", well, you MUST know my answer to that. If it helps you at all, there's much more in our 512 ad-free pages than in two years of EGM. And the systems you collect take up a lot of this book's real estate.
Choose wisely. :)

Since I can't get noboy from DP to return my e-mails I'm forced to do this. I need someone from DP to e-mail me so I can give my new address for my preordered collectors guide because if it's sent to my old address it will never reach me, thanks.

There are two choices of sending overseas a book this size (besides Global Priority which would be ultra-expensive!)
Air mail takes about a week
Surface mail takes 4-6 weeks

@molnars: I check my email several times a day! Either your email was a statement that didn't seem to require a reply or you're not sending it to the right email address: digitalpress@email.com
In any case, re-send your change of address, I'll take care of it.

@DP when shipping it out of the US are you going to mark the book as merchindise or as gift?
