I want a bigger TV but I don't have enough cash.
Should I get a Digital Wide screen with rear projection CRT, it can play HDTV modes...
480i. p, 720, p and 1080i.

I personally hate standard projections. Not being able to see it unless you're sitting at the exact right angle is a bit annoying. I love my CRT HD, but if you want size, then look elsewhere. My fave HD is DLP, but it's pricey. I don't know what you want to spend.

Here's my advice...
Do a little research. It can go a long way, likely a good deal longer than just asking a forum.
Especially considering that you give no exact or approximate price as what you have to work with, you're likely to get all the wrong answers.
Anyways, research, read reviews, price comparisons, the like.
Figure out what's in your range, and how well it suits your needs, and if nothing matches up to the bar, I'd consider finding the nearest higher-priced alternative that DOES meet your needs, and try to save up for it.
You'll probably thank yourself in the long run.

Projection models are cheaper, but have some drawbacks, such as needing to be dead on with them for the best picture, some risks with burn in from games and the like, and the quality of the pic is a little lower. More conventional CRT screens are better quality but more pricey.
No matter what you go with, make sure you get one that is at least HDTV compatiable, for when you decide to switch over.

i've heard projection TVs are bad for uses like gaming since the bulb for the projector burns out from them and costs a LOT to replace.

Plasma tv's can burn in also, so projection tvs and plasma aren't really recommended for video gaming.
I say follow Berserker M's advice...or ask anthony. :)

Here you go. This has some nice specs. The only drawback is its 5:4 and 16:9 compatible aspect ratios. ("native" is better than "compatible")
If $1,500 is too much for you then do your best to find one with all the same (or better) specs cuz this one looks pretty good.

This would probably require a seperate HDTV tuner
