Namco revealed new details on the PS2 version of Tekken 5. The game will include arcade port of Tekken 1, 2 and 3, however no extra content from the PS version will be included. In addition, StarBlade will be playable while the game is loading, and a new action adventure mode is added to the PS2 version called Devil Within Mode, where you play as Jin, fighting enemies in each stage; Jin can transform into the devil when the devil gauge is filled. There are also additional costimes designed by Mutsumi Inomata, Mamoru Nagano and Keisuke Itagaki.

Going back to the classic load screen, nice touch Namco...

Yeah...does this mean that Tekken 5 is ALSO Tekken 1-3? Automatically? If so...

Hmm, I know the collectors set is coming with a case to hold the previous games... but will these versions come on seperate discs?

Doesn't leave much of a reason for most people to buy Tekken 1-3 again to complete the case... unless of course you want all the features.

I've never played a Tekken game... Maybe nows the time to start. I wish all the rumors of an Xbox port were true :(

I might just pick that up to have perfect arcade ports of the first 3 tekkens even though I own the PSX versions.

Tekken 1 - 3 on the T5 disc are going to be direct arcade ports... None of the PSX options or anything on em...

Also check this out:

I just wanna confirm and let you guys know...

Each character has 4 costumes at least... CG endings... etc...

This is IMO the best Limited Edition/Collector's Edition that has come out to the US... For more information on the Limited Edition check out:

Does anyone have an image of the collectors edition case?

My concern is, What will I do with the jewel cases from Tekken 1-3? Does the collectors case hold just the disk or the jewel cases too? But since it seems that it will house Tekken Tag & Tekken 4 it makes me think that this will hold disks only since T4 & Tag came in DVD cases and there are the two variant boxes for Tekken 1 (long box original and jewel case)...I think I'm gonna go for that super set, sounds awesome and I hope the controller is better than the Tekken 3 stick that they released a while ago.

damn man, that looks super cool, but i don't want to spend 100 for it, i will just get the regular version. what happens when tekken 6 comes out though? new box set to buy? the only thing i do not like about this is that they are almost trying to say no more tekken games. of course this is not the case, but i am not going to buy the special box set edition until all tekkens are out

You're assuming that they'll even bother with a second box set... It's not a Matrix Soak. LOL

Who's to say you cant use the stick when Tekken 6 comes around.

If you dont like or want the stick, you can always sell it on Ebay. They are only making 20,000 sticks.

Heihachi?? DEAD??!? Blasphemy!

http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/tekken5/_profile.php

Notice the character pic on the far right. It has been discovered that the last time release character is indeed Heihachi, unlocked after the arcade machine is on for a really friggin' long time... six weeks, I think. C'mon, he's freaking Heihachi! And you expected him to DIE??!? LOL

I cannot wait for T5 to hit the PS2. It WILL be awesome, this I know. Namco... *sniff* I love you guys!!

Thats right! Its not Heihachi. It's his old man Jinpachi.

In the intro you see the Jacks come after Heihachi. The explosion at the end releases Jinpachi who was imprisioned in that building by Heihachi.

Jinpachi is a friend of Wang. If you remember Wangs ending in Tekken 2 you see him pour wine on the tombstone of Jinpachi. Wang thought he was dead, but he was wrong. Heihachi had him imprisoned for 50 years and had the world thinking his father was dead.

Jinpachi is the final boss in Tekken 5

MegaDrive20XX

That's right! I remember now....

Wang was the grandfather of Michelle Chang. Friend and Sparring partner of JINPACHI & ARMOR KING. Teacher of LING XIAOYU and LEE CHAO-LAN.

During Tekken 2 days, I had no clue who Jinpachi was until now.

Armor King is dead. Killed by Marduk. Is he dead for good? Who knows. Namco seems to bring back the dead. Look at Kazuya.

Oh yeah... that's why king goes to kill Marduk in the hospital in the end of Tekken 4 (but then sees the image of his family and refrains)...Armor King was always my fave. Grrrrr

This Jinpachi fella seems to be a REAL tough... though, it doesn't seem like he's playable in the arcade, I'm guessing he will be in the PS2 version. He seems to be built a lot like True Ogre, but I wonder how he fights... this'll be awesome. Four generations of Mishimas, and that does count Jin, despite the fact that he retains his mother's surname.
