A friend just asked me --

Is there any way to use a PS2 EyeToy as a webcam for a PC?

If so, how do you make it work?

It can be done from what i hear, but I'd imagine you need drivers for it. Google?

I've personally used my EyeToy as a webcam a lot in the past and it worked great! It doesn't have the best quality, but it takes OK pics and even can record videos w/ sound right to your harddrive (it has a mic already in the EyeToy).

This pic was taken with it:

I have only used it as a webcam with my 56k so I can't really comment (plus this is the only webcam I've ever used). You CAN see a little bit of delay when posing in front of it while looking at your monitor tho, and when taking video's I think it does around 15-20 FPS.

Is it possible to just use a USB webcam on your P$2 rather than buying an EyeToy? Might as well put the console's severely underutilized USB ports to use...
