I'd says the Christmas spirit has clouded some bidders judgement. Probably an overly eager parent wanting it for a child.

I disagree. I think it may be hard to find.
I did some hunting on the 'net. First of all, the only COMPLETED auction that ended under $100 (and there were ONLY 3 of them!) was won with a Buy It Now for twenty bucks - I suspect that buyer got away with a steal there. Also note that the only active auction - this one - has 13 bids already. That's no fluke.
Half.com, none in stock!
Yahoo shopping, none to be found!

Looks like a hot tip for collectors. I'll have to hunt through every retailers for any unsold copies of the game and then hide it for on say 10 years before listing them. Why, they could be equaliviant to Quadran today!
