M.U.G.E.N. The Fighting game Engine / Editor / Creator.

I think its an Enterbrain Product, only gets updated for Linux these days. I tried it, its pretty neat. Using other peoples wacky characters (GIANT Chain Chomp Ball! or a Metroid) is pretty fun. But A lot of people have huge online databases where you can download say KOF AOF FF SF DS... Any Fighting game and make the Big ol' crossover games. I tried to like it, But its only fun if you really know how to use the program.

I hope it's better than Fighter Maker 2. I was excited about the prospect of making my own fighters, but... yeesh. Worst purchase I've probably ever made.

Yep, Underdogs has a few MUGEN games. (Super Sango Fighter, Brutal Paws of Fury Remix, TMNT Tournament Fighters Remix, and I think Dragonball Z: Millenium.)

Mugen is simply a PC 2D graphic fighting game systems that allows you to put your own characters, stages, stage musics, lifebars, screenpacks, etc. In other words, it's merely something that allows you to create "Your Own Fighting Game System". Mugen is really fun and I assure you'll enjoy it dearly. It's free and legal to the public. It is in no way related to roms or warez. If your interested in downloading Mugen, be sure to visit http://www.mgbr.net. Remember to download the version "WinMugen Hack 04_06_2004" in the downloads section because of the fact that version has "no-limits".

I was at your shoes when I downloaded Mugen for the first time. It tooked me 4 days to figure out to put the characters, stages, music, etc. But I do have something that might help you. Here's the translated version of the "Mugen FAQ" in the Documentation section from Portuguese to English in the site http://www.mgbr.net. The link is here:

Note: And yes, NeoVenom's my cousin. :) I was the one that introduce Mugen to him... though he doesn't have much of a interested when it comes to fighting games. Mostly he's interesting in other types of games, like racing games for example.

I played it a long time ago. It was actually a lot better than I thought it would be, but it gets annoying always downloading different characters and other addons. If you havent tried it out yet, you should.

Well I don't despise fighting games, it'z just that it'z not my type of game. However, I really like Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Deadly Alliance. I wanna try Deception.

Quite a few years ago, I remember a fighting engine that featured screenshots of Guile getting mashed by Mario - with both at their normal screen sizes. (Think Servbot in Marvel vs Capcom 2.) Never saw that one again, though.
