I used to always get a kick out of going into CompUSA and digging through their bargain bin software. I've noticed over the past year or so these seem to have disappeared. Best Buy used to also have big bins of older games, but those too now seem to be gone.

Do any national chains still sell "older" games in bargain bins? By older, I mean early-to-mid 90's software.

I've been in some Circuit Cities that have big bins with some dreamcast and PSone games mixed in, but probably not anything released before 1998 or so. I remember media play back in Rochester used to have bundle packs of old sierra games for like 6 dollars. [Thats how I got Space Quest II and Kings Quest IV], but they probably don't have those anymore.

The Comp USAs near me do, a bin of N64 PSX and DC games they all suck though. They also have a rack of cheap PC games.

Oh and the famous TRU sales.

That's exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. I picked up Interplay's 10th Anthology (including Battle Chess, Bard's Tale, Wasteland and more) for $5 at one of these. I'd love to expand my classic PC collection through some of these bargain bins. Guess I'll be on the hunt this weekend!

I've seen brand new sealed Genny games at the local TRU, though still not at prices I'd want to pay, which is why I suspect they're still there. LOL

PDF, you should grab those Genny games if they are anything good, because they should be 90% off even if they are not green tagged.

Well you guys are definitely luckier than I.

The cheapest game I found at TRU was $20 I believe. No bargain bins, no sales that I saw, no nothing.

Neither CompUSA nor Best Buy had any real bargain bins either.

I never see them anymore. I remember back in the day digging though the BB's in the WIZ for genesis games, thats where the majority of my geney collection came from.

If there is a computer store called MICROCENTER around you (not many) then they will for sure have a bargain AISLE (big).

I take it back; CompUSA *did* have a "bargain" bin. It said software "starting at 4.88". The cheapest thing I found in there was $20.
