Well, I'm afraid I can't aid in your search but you should put some sort of stipulations on it. Atleast say what OS you want to run on it. I mean...you can buy a Pentium 133 with a 1gb hd that runs win95 or something. And as far as buying laptops go, I recommend buying something newer. They're more upgradable and easier on the wallet. you can buy a pretty sweet and up-to-date laptop for around $600 if you find the right one used where you can buy some really old ones for $500 or $400. That's my two cents though....

I would seriously consider looking at Dell's stuff. You can get pretty good performers new under $700 now.

Man, I run a Freecycle list, and I can't tell you how many requests a week I see for laptops. FREE LAPTOPS. And they all say stuff like this... DON'T CARE HOW OLD IT IS, BUT IT HAS TO BE RECENT AND VALUABLE.

Damn man, it's just not going to happen if you can't even write a 5 line post coherently.
