I'm sure this topic has been done a million times :/ but how about it? Favorite franchise needing a sequel?

I'd love to see a ghosts n goblins sequel, I don't think there's been one since the 16 bit days? (I'm horribly out of touch on new games mind you). Comments?

Maximo: Ghosts to Glory and Maximo Vs. The Army of Zin for the PS2 are the same type of game as ghosts n goblins, if not a sequel. Its got the same type of music and is developed by Capcom.

I've been jonesin' for a Zillion sequel ever since I played and beat the original. Even if it's something on the Sega Ages line, I'd be happy.

(If somebody mentions Zillion II, heads will roll.)

Another word...Mappy! You could call it...

Mappy 2: The Mouse Is Back! LOL

Yes, I know there's been one or two Mappy sequels already but we can ignore those. They ignored the original Frogger 2 (ThreeDeep!) when they did a more recent Frogger 2... :D

I'd kill to see a sequal to the Ghouls N' Ghosts' spinoff Demon's Crest.
Another Saturday Night Slam Masters would be cool, but it'll never happen.

Sweet! I wish the naming was more in line with the past games, but cool nontheless, I will def. check those out - thanks!

I'd also really like to see something slightly wacky like say Stinger updated :)

God it's so hard to Choose. Well i'd lik to see a GOOD new Contra Game since Neo Contra makes me puke. But since it's already had some recent incarnations i'm gonna go with Double Dragon. For me the Franchise Peaked with DD 2. I'd kind of like to see it get the attention it deserves and get a good new game. Kind of like tecmo did with ninja gaiden.

Mega Man. And the Mega Man X spin-offs don't count. I want to see Mega Man back in his glory days (1-6).
Another sequel-deserving franchise is Punch-Out!!! I own bth the NES and SNES versions, and they both rock. Hopefully another sequel will uphold that tradition. Earthbound, too. That DEFINITELY deserves a sequel. To bad Ninty ignored it:

Click it.
Hopefully, with Nintendo bringing back Metroid with great success, and soon reincarnating the NES Baseball into Mario Baseball, we'll see more of this from them. Also, with Capcom's Mega Man Anniversary Collection getting good sales, they'll bring back the old school Mega Man.

My top 5 choices would be:

Yar's Revenge
Berzerk
Mappy
Time Soldiers
Joust (Make it kinda like Panzer Dragoon!)

i'm gonna go with Double Dragon.

Yes! I have never figured out why this series never got some sort of newer update. Super Double Dragon was the last true Double Dragon game, and it didn't do too poorly. Then, they released the stupid fighting game of Double Dragon V, and it sucked and they threw in the towel it seems.

A new Double Dragon with a full in either 2D or 3D would be so fun.

Those were two of the games I was going to list. I think that Crystalis would be AWESOME if they made it on a new console! I would love to see a new Little League Baseball as well.

The Maximo games are definitely not direct sequels to G'NG, but they are related.

And how come no one's mentioned Splatterhouse yet?

Oh, you must've been waiting for me. Heh. LOL

So what about Double Dragon Advance on GBA?

DD for the GBA isn't really worthy. Yes it's a sort of new game, but it's also so short that it shouldn't count for much. It was fun, classic Double Dragon, but i want a REAL new game, not a something that's so short it could be a demo.

And... well, definitely Earthbound.

two that I would really want that have already been mentioned are

Splatterhouse and Nights

then of course the game I would really want a sequal too can not have one Tecmo Super Bowl. while it might never have happened anyway any dream or delusion I might have had was crushed by EA

also wouldn't mind a new Streets of Rage (somebody mentioned)

in that case you might be in for a long waitThat's like waiting fro Mario to get back into a good old run and jump platformer.. and at least Mario's getting a totally new one soon. Me2, do you not recognize the GBA Advance series as Sonic either?

I'm gonna have to side with both parties on this one. I feel the Sonic series on Advance is just not as "fast" when compared to the Genesis.

I was playing Sonic Advance 2 and I thought "Is it me, or does he seem a littler slower then usual?"

Then I pop in Sonic 2 on Genesis...get to the chemical plant zone act 1...now that's FAST!

Sonic Adventure on the other hand gives me insane speed on the highway like levels

Yet, I do feel we will never have a true sequel to Sonic and Knuckles

Sometimes, I've wondered what Bonk would be like in 3D. A new Adventure Island game would be nice too, if they did it right.

It ain't slower, it's just different. Actually the fastest sonic game would be sonic 3 (speed wise) but also sonic advance is quite fast. It can't be faster, because no one has a reaction time of about 100ms, everyone is around the 300-600 marks, so any faster it would be imposible to play, much a-la sonic n-gage (you can't see where you're going at).

You guys listed some games that would be awesome if they had sequels but i have to stick with stevec1636 and say that there needs to be a streets of rage sequel, although i am afraid that streets of rage in 3d would probably suck. (just think of fighting force)
