Question about PS2 online

I want to try out using my PS2 online, but I'm not quite sure if I have the right equipment. Basically, all I have is a crossover cable that can reach from my living room to my cable modem. Is there any way to make this work?

You just need a cat5 cable to run it to your modem (or to your switch/router). Its reccomended that you find the boot disc and have the software set up the preferences so you can connect, otherwise it gets kinda finnickey.
