Sorry I just had to vent. Just bought some games off ebay. Seller listed in invoice for $6.50 for USPS priority mail shipping. I just got them today. It came via media mail for only $1.48. I know it's only a $5.00 difference, but money is money and it's just the principle.

This guy had a high feedback too. I just e-mailed him requesting the difference he owes me. I usually give the benefit of the doubt and maybe it was a mistake, but sheesh, sellers need to be more attentive on shipping costs and not try to rip people off [/END RANT]

Of course ALOT of people will purposely get you on shipping, but me being a seller, AN HONEST ONE, sometimes I do make a couple dollar mistakes on how much shipping will be.
I will admit sometimes I might overcharge a couple of bucks, and sometimes I don't charge enough. One time I had to eat around $12 in shipping, that sucks.
I haven't had one complaint yet, only good things about how well I pack my games. I REALLY KNOW the importance of that.

If the listed price in the auction for shipping says priority in the auction text and he sends it media well thats the same as him listing a game new and sealed and just sending you the cart.

If he just said shipping is $6.95. Then well there is nothing you can do. But if he promised you one form and delivered another albit cheaper then you are owed some cash.

I bought about 10 items from a seller once.
The seller wanted $12.99 for each item i bought in shipping. Thats $129.99 in shipping and the total weight was about ½ pound.

Of course, I never payed and contacted Ebay. Never heard from him since or recived any negative/neutral feedback from him.

i usually overcharge a couple dollars on shipping myself, the nearest post office is probably 15 minutes away from my house if i charged a flat rate of 5$ and it ends up only being 3$ , i consider the extra 2 dollars for gas and the price of the box that i used to ship the item out.

Yeah but in this case the seller didn't follow his OWN terms. He listed priority and didn't send it in that manner. What if he listed it at $25 for overnight shipping and sent it media mail is that ok?

You think that's bad, check this one out...

Now, granted the item is coming from Japan and there is a low opening bid (probably to avoid ebay fees) but come on, GBP 69 for shipping? That's about $125 USD. To make matters worse, if you want insurance, you have to pay an additional GBP 30, about $50 USD. That's $175 to ship a Saturn from Japan. I don't care if someone won it for $5, its still a scam.

But it gets better, check out the sellers feedback, specifically, the last negative. $500 to ship a Saturn and 30 games. Oh, and he doesn't combine shipping either. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssshole!

Someday I'm going to sticky one of these and just let everyone add their overshipping stories to it instead of seeing a new one every week.

This is something diffrent tho. Here he have a low start price and high shipping price to save the ebay fees.

What I hate is when people ask $1 more to ship an item to Canada. I collect NES games. If you ship one NES game (cart only) in a padded envelope and ship it USPS airmail, it will cost $1.35. If you ship the same item in the US media mail, I think it cost $1.42. Why the extra $1. Filling out the green customs declaration label takes about 10 seconds and sellers don't use better envelopes to ship an item to Canada. I always wondered why I have to pay more.

Back when I was looking for a NeoGeo, it seemed like all the systems on eBay were Japanese (and that still seems to be the case), and pretty much all of them would only ship EMS for about $100. I still don't even know what EMS is, but I certainly hope it's the best damn shipping money can buy.

And I still don't understand why there are people on eBay who refuse to combine shipping... On a number of occaisions, I would have gladly bought from them, but changed my mind when I saw they wouldn't combine shipping. The only reason to do this is to extort more money off shipping.

I hope you got (or eventually get) your money back rhiohki... that's happened to me more than once (especially living in Canada, since everyone assumes right away that international shipping = $$$ without even checking)

EMS is insured. If you look at that auction I linked, the seller wants GBP 69 just for shipping and another GBP 30 for insurance. That's GBP 99, or approximately $175 to ship a Sega Saturn insured from Japan to the US. Most other sellers charge around $60-$70 to ship a Saturn insured from Japan. When I bought my Neo Geo CD console it was about the same. This seller is just being an ass.

Yeah, this one seller is charging me six bucks to send six arcade flyers... now remember, these are just single pieces of paper folks. Should it matter that they were from six separate auctions? I'm thinking about asking him to take it down a dollar or two on principle, but I'm not sure if it's really the "proper" thing to do.
