PSP Ridge Racer = Free?

my local eb manager, when i went in to preorder ridge racer and mercury with my psp told me i didnt need to preorder ridge racer because it would come free with my psp.....is this true? anyone else hear this?

I heard a rumor at an unreliable site, someone also said that an EB manager claimed that Sony was contemplating making RR free with the PSP to sweeten the price even more.

I personally highly doubt the validity of this rumor, but you can never be sure with things like this.

That would actually be really awesome, I'd love to get this game free! I think I'll go check this one Monday and see what they say at my local EB.

this actully would make sense, because the only game from the launch list without a price appears to be ghasp Ridge Racers ghasp


Since were on the topic of rumors... did anybody notice in the latest EB booklet for all of their ads, that they have a standalone psp for 200 dollars? This was made after the announcement of the value pack for the US...

RR is also going to make good use of the PSP's online capabilities (8 via Wi-Fi), making it even more of a sensible pack-in since everyone would have a copy.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony offered two packages: a basic unit at $200 and a Ridge Racer pack-in at $250. Either way, this thing is gonna sell. A lot.

It would be insanely pointless to add a pack in for $50 alone. Why not just buy it seprately? If the deluxe package or whatever had a bunch of stuff AND a pack-in game, it would be worth it even more.

I'm pretty excited to get a PSP, but I don't really know why. I'm kind of down on the early adopter considering how crappy the DS lineup has been (price vs. value.)

when I pre ordered my PSP from EB a month ago or so I pre ordered Ridge Racers also. Nobody said anything about a free copy. I was in there yesterday and never heard anything from the manager who is a friend of mine. He also pre ordered RR.
