Forgive me if plans are already underway or if this is already being talked about, but I'd definitely suggest that the way collections are displayed could do with a bit of refinement - perhaps using a taste of javascript to make indiividual systems collapsible?
With the rather pitiful skills, reading, cutting and pasting, and outright thievery I've done for PHP coding at work, it should be possible to dynamically generate titles that serve as links, and then under those, individual detail rows.
The only problem I've had is being able to incorporate that with the sortable columns... the thing is, though, for massive collections, how well wiill the sorted columns deal perform? Perhaps different viewing techniques could be provided as an option for the user..
eg you pick whether you want an all-at-once view or a drill-down view (what I was referring to before about expanding sections), and what field(s) to sort by.
If I'm making any kind of sense here, and it's not something you guys are already way on top of, let me know, I'll try and be more useful.. otherwise I'll just shut up and enjoy the fruits of your labours!
