I was wondering about some of the missing systems from the database. I know there are quite a few of them.

One of them is the Casio PV-1000, which was only released in Japan. I can't find a terrible lot about it, but I do know it has at least 8 games, and the names of those games.

This page tells a little bit about the system:
http://darkwatcher.psxfanatics.com/console/pv1000.htm

And if you'll notice, there's a picture of 8 games for the system at the bottom of the page. The titles are blurry and hard to read, but they definitely all match up to the list of games I found through this website:
http://asgl.dzaba.com/Systems3/Casiopv.htm

Any chance the system (or other missing systems) will be added to the database? Or maybe there needs to be more info about it.

All consoles can be added to the DB, put together a list of games with at least manufacturer, and maybe part no.s and any other info and put a generic list out and I'm sure Joe will be glad to add it.

Now that system's got me curious, has some pretty popular games released for it. Maybe I can find an emulator, probably not though. I'll have to do some web surfing for info on that console, and it would be cool in the database too.

I doubt you'll find an emulator. I can count the number of English pages on Google with more than a paragraph about the PV-1000 with my fingers, so there isn't much interest in it.

I did look, and that was the only list of games I could find. Although, some of the titles were released for other systems, so I guess the manufactureres could be derived... perhaps.

Casio also did another Japan-only console that's even *harder* to find information on. It's called the Loopy, and I know it has at least four games for it. I can find pictures and info on the Loopy, and a list of games, but again, manufacturer details are hard to come by seeing as how it's totally unknown. Definite rarities and collectibles, these two systems are, I think.

Thanks though, I'll be on the lookout.

There's also the PV-2000. I have some info (well, game lists) about both, but haven't found the time to do anything with it for DP. Argh.

I saw a little on the 2000

Please share your info.

I actually know about this.

The PV-2000 I don't think would qualify for the database because it's a computer, not a video game console. It shares the same technology as the PV-1000, and both were released by Casio around the same time, which is why the names are similar.

Now, why wouldn't we include a computer? Not only did it play games, it played game CARTRIDGES. Oh yeah, the PV-2000 is ripe for inclusion!

Here are my lists, plus a couple bonus lists (sorry I have some question marks in my titles/transliterations):

Damn, where'd you find those part numbers? I actually tried looking online for them somewhat dilligently and turned up nothing.

Anyway, cool stuff.

Generally speaking, if I have part numbers, it's because I own it, or it's evident from box or catalog pix.

BTW, I haven't verified EVERYTHING on those lists as existing -- to be safe, put a NR? by anything without numbers, and by the Bandai TV Jack 5000 #2-4 (unless Ianoid can verify them).

I saw RUSS' list, but vintagegamcrazy is disputing a few of Russ' facts. I just needed to be sure.

I don't believe anything conflicts at all between Russ' list and mine. I just saw that he was missing some model no.s and found a Japanese site and then found a translation site and wanted to help fill in the blanks. Double check the lists, I don't think anything conflicts, if it does please point it out and in a few hours when I get home I will be sure to correct my errors.

Thanks Joe. :D

There are conflicts, Doug. For starters, you're listing part numbers to games that Russ doesn't think were released, and it appears a game like Pooyan being "cartridge #1" WAS certainly released. There are also discrepancies in the titles between the two lists. I'm diong my best to "meet in the middle" with these.

Thanks again!

Got ya Joe, check this link out, you may have to download a Japanese patch for it to work, but they look like their in his collection, because he has wanted in some of his other listings, so they look concrete to me. Russ can you verify this?

I'll point out another thing, Russ listed some of the releases as the Japanese name, mine are listed with the English name, Your call Joe, you may want to list them one way and the other way in Parenthesis, or as the a.k.a.

Thanks.

As you stated, you give English -- the question marks I have for this one are because I don't know how the Japanese would be phoneticized. In my lists, I usually give the phoneticization as the title, and then in curly brackets {} the translation.

15 Mahjongg

For what it's worth, the phoneticization is "Majon" (or is it "Majan"?) but in English it's usually "Mah Jong", two words, one 'g'. I'm sure there are variations, and I think this came from Chinese anyway, and I don't know how THEY would phoneticize it...

And Joe, if I have an "NR?" (note the question mark), it usually means that I've seen the game listed somewhere, but have never seen an actual cartridge. In other words, I'm not sure if it exists or not, but I've seen evidence that it might. So where Gary's (right? vintagegamecrazy's) list has no NR, he might very well be right. The downside is that I started getting more careful about these things partway into doing all my lists, so some aren't as carefully done... That's why I mentioned if I don't have the part numbers, you maybe should list them as "NR?" because I can't verify those. Other people probably can. Ianoid, I'm looking in your direction...
