I am sure it is different all over, but does any one know how much you get for a working NES at gamestop/babbages?? I called them up and for some stupid reason, they can't give you a price over the phone. I am not about to bring it all the way there (its 20 minutes away) if they are going to give me $8 for it.

Probably about $20.
I think it's $25. The last time I brought one in it was $30, but supposedly they've lowered it, so I can't be bothered anymore.
And don't forget it's credit only!

If you want cash you're probably better off ebaying it, especially if you have a few games to toss in. Some moron that I work with bid $91 on an NES with a few basic games. I told her she was nuts and that I have 2 or 3 just lying around. What a dope! Maybe it's just the Holiday nuttiness but it sure seems like NES systems are selling high now. Still....Gensis systems still seem to sell pretty cheap. Hmmm.... :hmm:

Definitely ebay it. I've been shopping ebay for an NES for the past week or so and couldn't believe how much people were paying, maybe it's because of Christmas or something. Toploaders with only a couple of games were going for over $120, and regular NES's were going for at least $75, $100 if there were 10 or more games. I finally got one with a bunch of games and accessories for $60, I fully expected to be outbid but for some reason that auction slipped through the cracks. The seller didn't sound too happy about it either in his emails!!

The reason that I was looking at trading it in was because the last time I ebayed a system it went for like $36 >:( . That was with 12 games a new pinn and all accesories. I guess the prices went back up. :D I will give the bay another try. Thanks for the info guys!

Ya but a month or so ago I sold an NES with all hook-ups and controllerswith 12 games and only got $26.50 US and an NES with all hook-ups and controllers 12 games and a new pin and it only went for $35.00 US. I was kinda mad but at least I broke even.

$20 as of 12-20-2002.
I hate to sound like a priss, but I understand why they don't want to give you prices over the phone. Being the holiday season I don't give em out over the phone to someone who "might" come up later. I'm more concerned about making the customer in front of me happy. Since the stores are so busy, I can't look up the prices for 20 different nes games.

I can understand what you are saying about individual games Achika, but I specifically said to the person a complete working NES with all controllers/wires and no games. At that point, I think they could tell me a price. Just my opinion.
Anyway, Thanks for the info. :x-mas:

I do wish Funco kept their price listings up so we know how much, or how little, we'd be getting back for stuff.

just BIN it for $50 w/ a new connector and one R1 game of your choice (Tetris, SMB3 work great) otherwise you will probably only get 25-30 for it.

I took me a little while Raedon, but I figured out what you were saying. Thats a good idea, but instead of dealing with ebay fees buying/replacing a pin and dealing with a buyer, I would trade it to gamestop for the $20 in trade.
