I am thinking of collecting playstation games. besides ebay, what are some other places I should check(box and booklet, new or used)? The main things I am interested in are the long box games right now? Am I to late, or is there still plenty of them around?

EB Games
Gamestop

both place still have plenty of PSX games....although long box (im also working casually on long box are getting harder to find) and the rare cd case games are gonna give you some troubles.....the commons are easy to find though

both stores have a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale (unless it ended....it was going on this weekend) so you can expand your collection that way

Don't forget your local mom 'n' pop stores with names like "CD/Game Exchange" or some such. And if you see cheap Saturn games in their long box cases (a long shot these days, but still), pick 'em up, too. Some of the PSX longbox games came in the same plastic cases, and it's good to have replacements.

Long boxes are out there, but have never been all over, at least in MY major hunting. Its not to say that I dont stumble into them (i do semi regularly) but they are no where near in force like the regular jewel cased games are. Like most PS games they arnt all that expensive, however a fair number of the really rare PS games are Longboxes, or have some demand behind them, so expect to pay for a few.

CD/Game Exchange isn't a mom & pop store - more of a small chain. But it's still a good place to check out if you have one nearby (go here (http://www.cdgamexchange.com/Locations.htm) for a list of locations).

Be sure to check out thrifts, pawns and flea markets too.

In my experience, I come across long box stuff on a semi-regular basis as well. Sports titles seem to pop up the most (not surprisingly) but I also come across non-sports stuff every now and then as well.

Good luck!

I'd also check the video rental stores. I always run across them when they're selling off the older titles.

I've been doing pretty well with my PSX collecting at EB/Gamestop.

Scored a big pile of longbox titles last week along with a PS1 copy of "Team Buddies" (R8 via DP Guide). Sold Buddies and it paid for the whole lot of longbox titles and then some.

The task of assembling a complete PS1 collection is pretty daunting though....there's so much out there.
