I have a nomad and it freezes too much. I clean the carts put them in and I just am playing for a little while and it just freezes. I am very gentle (no rough handling) and it won't do it all of the time. Can anyone offer any suggestions for a solution?
Thanks
Doug

Cleaner carts, cleaner cart slot.
Mine's touchy too. It's all about good contact between the cart and the system, with no jostling. The cleaner it is, the less sensitive to jostling.

how about inserting a piece of cardboard so the cart does not move? I mean, i'm sure it's a bad idea.

Yeah thats definately the problem. I had a super touchy Nomad before also the slightest bump would make it freeze.

Yeah I used to use mine with a GENESIS 2 power supply and the slightest movement would shut it off. Very finicky!

Mine had a bad solder joint from the cartridge connector to the PCB. When the system was moved the joint would open up and the game would "freeze". All you are doing by jamming something in with the cartridge is tilting the cartridge port to try to insure contact. Unfortunately the cartridge port is not very well supported and all the inserted and removing the games stresses the system. Its not because your system isn't clean. Carefully open your system up locate the bad solder joint, put some solder flux on the joint and maybe a little more solder with some heat from a soldering iron, reflow the solder and good as new.
