I installed the Sims Online and I can't stop playing. Sooo fun! Is anyone else playing/planning to play? I would like to be in the same town!

Nope. I've never even touched the Sims offline...ain't gonna go there! I need a super-addictive online game sucking up all my time like I need [another] hole in my head. :P

I had the beta for Sims Online. I installed it and was completely lost. Never played sims before and I just did not understand all the controls and such. More of an RPG man myself

I'm hopelessly addicted to Ultima Online, so I really can't spare any extra time on The Sims. :)

The Sims was a great game for those people who liked Solitare.. It was a great seller because of house wives who couldn't play any other sort of game to save their lives. I assume Sims online will do great but paying 9.95 to tell a character to go to work and take a shit is crazy imho.

You're saying that housewives comprise the majority of Sim's players? I have a hard time believing housewives comprise the majority of any gaming community...

Michael and I played the Sims Online Beta for a while, but I just couldn't get into it very much. He had played the regular Sims games prior to that, though, so he was more comfortable with controlling everything.
But it can be very addictive based on how many hours he could be online with it. And how many times I had to wait on dinner because he had to finish beating the pinata. No really, it sounds dirty, but it wasn't. :D He eventually got bored with the Beta copy, though, because after a while, there just wasn't much variation to the game.

I never liked the original "The Sims", so I'm not really interested in this one either.
The only fun times I had with that game were seeing how fast i could get the people killed, or installing new skins to make the most dysfunctional family ever.

Blah, okay. Most times I bring up my fondness for Sims someone has to make fun of me :P
I don't think housewives made it a #1 game.
Sims is fun if you're creative. My character now Iorek Byrnison is a polar bear named after a polar bear king in Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" books.
He is beefing up his creativity and body skills because he is starting a bear dance hall. People can come and dance with bears, because it is more fun to see a bear jitterbug.
His business/house is called "The Dancing Bear" and is shaped like a bear head. It's in Alphaville :)

Sims is a great game, I just can't play ANY of the sim games for very long, I play for a couple weeks, then I get an unlimited money cheat, play for 2 more weeks, and I'm done.
I'm gonna pay to play online, it's AC2, which is currently sucking up over 70 HOURS A WEEK of my time right now, heh.
