People are willing to pay a lot of money for traffic.

Likely, it's someone who thinks they can sell ads there for more than it costs to buy the thing. In '99 they might have been right, hell, they might still be right, but online advertising has gotten a much less inviting place to be in recent years, although it has improved some in the last 24 mo. or so...

What is this online advertising your talking about

I don't mean ads like pop-ups, I'm referring more to banners and links and whatnot. What do you think a site like IGN gets paid to run those banner ads all over it's site? TONS, although still probably less than they used to get.

ad-block blocks all banner ads and whatever other pictures you want to block (i.e. huge ass sig posts) :rocker:
