I picked this up recently at a thrift for $8. Problem is there is no audio...through the speakers or the headphone jack. I took all the screws out and began to open it up but there are wires attached and keeping me from seperating the two halves completely. I didn't want to go any further without trying to get some info. on what I was doing/looking for to begin with.
Anyone have any experience fixing these thing... or is there a site that I could check out for some info? Any advice appreciated.

I have never opened one, and don't know where the halves separate. I can't help you there.

What I would do is check the inputs for continuity. Make sure the inputs are properly connected to the monitor PCBs, then make sure the monitor PCBs are properly connected to the speaker(s). After that, it would be time to check continuity with a multimeter. If you have continuity, you'd have to start looking at the PCBs themselves, in whatever is the audio section.
