So I was at the local Target store looking at some toys and games and such. In the back was the plug and play tv games selection. I looked at one and it was a Madden 95 / NHL 95 combo for 19.99$

What a frigging waste of plastic. Not to mention the look of the thing holding these two games was also horrible (pregnant genesis controller comes to mind); I seriously wanted to take anyone I saw buying that thing and give them a Genesis, I think I have about 10 I cannot get rid of to save my life, and the same two exact games, which there must already be 100,000,000 copies of that game out in the world. (the salvation army down the street has at least 20 copies that they cannot also get rid of)

20$ new, for only 2 games. I feel bad for any little kid who gets this crap.

I think the cost of batteries to run that thing is more than what it cosst to buy those two games.

Do they even support battery back-up?

Well, NHL'95 was tha bomb when it came out and instant favourite among casual players and um.. hardcore alike. We still occasionally have a NHL '95 tournament with my mates.
I don't need one for sure but I think it's a convenient choice for people who don't do thrifts to find a smelly old Genesis.

The thing with Madden is that '95 was the year it finally got both the players and the league in the game-which this monstrosity lacks both of. (Although this point illustrates why Tecmo Bowl was only some better roster revisions away from long-term success in the '90s.)
