I just came back from EB with both games. They cost me a total of $30 Cdn brand new (about $20), because I sold some games to the store. I have yet to try either game (i'm waiting to see what Cdmz's announcement is all about). Unfortunately, I'll have to wait longer before playing Metroid Fusion because I can't find my Gameboy Advance. Hopefully it's hiding somewhere in the appartment along with my copy of Golden Sun.

Ok, so I just came back from playing Metroid Prime for an hour. So far, so good. The atmosphere is right, the controls aren't too difficult to learn. I made it to the first boss (and that's where I die). Of course, I'd probably find it easier to play if I had more experience with FPSs (especially where shooting enemies is concerned), but it is Metroid alright.
Oh, and I like how the old Metroid music is back (including the theme from Super Metroid when you get an upgrade).

If only I knew where my GBA is... *sniff*
Then I could try Fusion (well, if I don't find the GBA, I'll get another one, so it's not a completely lost cause).

Possibly but I sort of doubt it.. since you all you need to do is lock on the target (L button) and there ya go: fire away! :) Which is why they say Metroid definitely isn't a FPS. And I agree. It is 100% 3D METROID. :P

I finally spent some quallity time with this game today, and It is incredible. It's like they say, the little things are what stick with you. EXAMPLE: I was standing in the rain, looking up, and water droplets were hitting my visor. OK, nothing spectacular there, water drops on the screen are the Next gen. version of Lens flare, everybody does it. so I start walking forward, and rain hits my visor. but when I stop moving, no more rain drops on my visor. It just makes sense. Great game!

I agree that both games are great. I just finished Fusion recently. This is, hands down, the best game I have played all year. The gameplay, controls, and Graphics are far superior to anything on the GBA. The BEST. If I were you, I would kick one of my younger relatives @$$' and steal their GBA over the holidays, lock yourself in a dark room, and play away.
I just starterd playing Metriod Prime, and I love the way it the games draws you in. I Love teh fact that I am emersed in the wonderful world of Metroid. Nothtat I want to be a women, butt.....the game is a great piece of work.
I also love the little extra you get if you beat Fusion and Link to Prime. I love it, I love it. ROCK!

I think at EB they have a deal where you can get one for somewhere around $40.
