Disapointing and good bonus endings?

Not sure if this have been brought up before, I couldnt find anything in the forum search. Close it if its already been done.


Have you ever been disapointed in bonus endings?

In example, I recently played through Super Mario Advance for GBA and when I beaten it I unlocked something called "Yoshi Challenge".
Now you have to play the game all over again and collect 2 Yoshi eggs on each stage. And you cant die because then you lose the eggs and you have to start all over again. There is also fewer mushrooms to collect.

Anyways, I used hours to complete the Yoshi Challenge. And when I finaly made it, all that happend was that the Yoshi Egg on the title screen turned into a moving Yoshi. So many hours of play and this is all that happend :(


And what about good bonus endings?

I like the bonus ending in Mr. Gimmick for NES when you collect all the 6 treasures and you get the extra level. Realy nice ending! :)

Spoilers for DINAMITE HEADDY

A moment after reading the topic title, I tought in Dynamite Headdy. There are 4 hidden bonus stages in which you can get a four number code (random every time you play, so you have to start always from the beggining). After getting it and finishing the game, a secret boss appeared, and after beating it all I got was a (somewhat nice) picture of Headdy and a sign with "The End" written on it.

WHERE´S THE SECRET ENDING???? @_@

Well... I don't think I would consider this a bonus ending. But in Lunar 2 the ending royaly sucks unless you play the epilogue quest at the end of the game credits. Much, MUCH better!

I know... Like, who dosen't know that. But you never know.

Holy shit, Valkyrie Profile spoilers.


Okay, I LOVE Valkyrie Profile. I only just played it about a year ago, but it took its rightful place as one of my favorite rpgs of all time. HOWEVER, anyone who plays it MUST do so with a guide (I used an faq from gamefaqs). There are very strict requirements that must be followed throughout the entire game to get the best ending, and there are really no clues in the game that show you how to comeplete them. Believe me, if you don't use a guide, you will not get the best ending except by sheer dumb luck. And BELIEVE me, you WANT the best ending. Why? Because there are three. The bad ending consists of you dying. The best ending gives you a whole lot more play time plus a WHOLE lot of story and a total wrap up of everything.

The "good" (or "normal") ending, though, is absolutely wonderful; a black screen with the words "Thank You for Playing". BAH!

Katamari Damacy secret ending. Heh, well maybe that one was worth it, and didn't take too much extra effort.

Speaking of good bonus endings, the 5 and final (that we know of) silent hill 2 ending is hilarious. After all is said and done James discovers it's a dog that's controlling silent hill. Absolutely hilarious.

But also take note that the Greatest Hits version of Silent Hill 2 has some of those extras - the UFO ending in particular where Harry Mason & James Sunderland meet, absolutely Hilarious!!!

I'm partial to the 'secret' ending from Contra Hard Corps. It's actually the easiest ending to get to, and it's pretty funny.

Metroid endings are kind of annoying also -- if you want the REALLY BEST one you got to be a perfect gamer. @_@
