Roughly. Looks like he's making a little profit off it.

Here its usualy about $1.25 for each credits
I remember playing House of the Dead 2 i think. 1 credit costsed over 3 dollars!

Depending on the arcade and the newness of the game, I'd guess a round of Tekken 5 would run you somewhere between .50 and 1.00.

Note that that same website has a Tekken 5 kit for about half the price. With a kit, you'd just get the artwork and the game itself. That's why you see so many converted games in arcades -- the ones that don't bring in any action simply get upgraded.

Ye.. much cheaper. Guess people who already have an arcade machine wants to spend over $2000 just to get a new when the old works fine.

They are not game systems, they are profit driven revenue generators. They are bought and sold with the expressed purpose of being placed on site at a venue and bringing in dollars. People don't buy brand new machines for their house.

I was looking around on some of the sites of companies that provide brand new arcade machines.

An 8-person Derby Stallion setup is like $150,000.

All I want is an Afterburner 2 R360 machine, but I'll never have one..... :(

Some people do, but not as a rule. :)

Most shops rent arcade machines, they don't buy them. They usually split the profits of the machines 50/50 with whatever company they rent them from.

Also, that lets them swap the games if they don't do very well in the store.
