What are the odds that I can get it to work again? I can't open it up(because I don't I have the right screwdriver) and it doesn't play games or even charge. Should I just try to get some extra money on eBay for it?

If it does not get powered on wet, it can be fixed with a cleaning.
You will need a tri wing screwdriver to open it.
If the screwdriver thing is too big an obstacle, I guess you need to ditch it.
I'd pay no more than $10USD for it shipped, but that's me.
good Luck!

Its been like that for a few months so I would guess it's dry.

But likely dirty. Expect a faint screen if anything happens at all.

If you tried to charge it or turn it on while wet, then it's probably gone. Otherwise, as others have said, the most likely problem will be crap and deposits from the water in front of the screen (which theoretically should be cleanable, although I've never had to do so).

Every portable unit that Nintendo ever produced is usually super-durable. I've heard of people leaving their GB or GBA in the snow all winter and they still worked. Or dropped them in the toilet. Other portable companies usually don't fare so well.
Open it up and use a blow dryer on LOW (warm, not hot) to dry out the components. Let them sit for a day or two exposed to the air. Should be ok after that. If not, let it sit for a few more days. After that, cal Nintendo. They will fix it for a fee. Don't tell them you opened it.

Thats the thing though. What if you get caught out in the rain one day with something like this in your pocket?
Mobile phone makers haven't yet thought about this sort of thing, and I have gone through so many phones from simply having had them in my pocket when walking home from somewhere and I get caught in the rain with no protection...

Oh, they've thought about it all right. Apparently they get enough warranty returns for "defective" phones that actually were destroyed by water that some of them now install a piece of paper with a water-soluble ink patern on it inside the phone. So if they open it up and see that the ink has run, then they figure that you dropped it in the toilet or something and you're on your own for the repair bill.
Oh, wait--you meant, like, something that would prevent the phone from being destroyed by water? Well, in the words of Maa, "we shouldn't expect too much".
I spilled a full glass of milk on my Gameboy Color, and it works with no problems, to this day.
