Now this is what I would class as a perfect acution:

Perfect eBay auction (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11324&item=8173860014&rd=1)

Firstly, there is not too much crap to read through, and what there is, is all relevant and worth reading. The paragraphs are well structured and laid out in a nice sort of way which is eyecatching, yet simple and easy to read.

He starts off by telling you a brief background of the game, followed by a brief description and condition Etc...

This is then followed by a tiny paragraph about being new, and then by the payment details and how he ships his stuff.

It is rounded off by not one, but two clear and excellent pictures which show you what you are bidding on.

Now this is what I would class as a textbook auction. It is informative, and tells me almost everything I would ever need to know (Already answering many common questions which are usually asked via question for seller)

I really wish more people's auctions were like this and not the usual one line of text followed by an archive scan of the game.

So kudos to this guy for taking a bit of time and making the effort - In my experience, it always pays off in the end!

There are a few things missing for me to say it's "perfect". For starters, on disc based games, I always like to see a picture of the BOTTOM of the disc.

Don't get me wrong -- it's good, but not perfect. The little bit of extra time and effort spent should hopefully help him sell the item a little easier.

About these promo games. Where do you get them and are they rare?

Look at my other auctions, unless you are too scared!

Not really that rare, they're the copies sent out to reviewers etc. before the game's full release. I've got 3 myself from a local indoor market. The stallholder says another of his regulars is a freelance writer who brings them in in batches and trades them for the original Star Wars figures.

It'd be even better if it didn't have a broken image in the middle of the description.

I think that it is really hard to take a photo of the bottom of a CD. And if this guy can't take a decient, in focus photo of the top of the disk then I think he has no chance of getting a deicent photo otf the bottom.
