Iron Soldier 3
There are actually two different versions of this game. The first one was released by Vatical, the second one was released by Telegames. Both were developed by Telegames, but both have slightly different covers on the manuals, most notably in the size of the image and logo for the game, as well as the publisher's logo that appears on the cover. Otherwise the two versions are identical, and the game remains the same, but there were two distinctly different releases, and only the Vatical version is in the database. I have it checked as owned now, but mine is actually the Telegames version.

Given your location I assume that there is an NTSC variant available but no PAL counterpart.
Is the copyright date the same on both versions?

I'll start the research on this.
Any pictures you can send of it?

No need for new research, DB. I've seen both variations, and threw it on the list almost a year ago. You'll see both come up on ebay with some frequency.

Looking at my personal Excel list, ive got the Telegames one (which i'm thinking was the later release. If possible I need to hunt one down so I can figure out if I need to mark off the other release of the game, or if I can just leave it as a general note.

Unfortunately I don't have any pics, but I can tell you this much about them: The first release has a Vatical logo in the lower right corner of the manual. The Iron Soldier logo on this version is slightly larger than the one on the Telegames release, but otherwise it's identical. The image of the mech is slightly larger on this version as well. The second release has a Telegames logo in the lower right corner of the manual. The Iron Soldier logo on this version is slightly smaller than the one on the Vatical release, but otherwise it's identical. The image of the mech is slightly smaller on this version as well.
So, the two version are identical, except for the publisher's logos, the size of the game logo, and the size of the cover art. I've never seen both versions of the CD though, but I assume that it has similar differences. I wish that someone could find both versions to verify this though. I'm not sure why there's two different versions, but I assume that Telegames decided to take over publishing and distribution of the game themselves. However, it seems even more odd that they ever licensed it out to someone else to begin with.
As for the copyright dates on them, I'm not sure. But I do know that the Vatical version is the first release, and the Telegames version is the second release. So it would be very interesting to find out what the production runs on both versions were. Who knows which one is the rarer version, if one is indeed more rare than the other, but if you insist on having the original first release of it, then you want the Vatical version, not the Telegames version. The Vatical version has some credits for Telegames on it as well, but the Telegames version has no mention of Vatical on it at all. At least not on any of the printed materials or the disc itself. I dunno about the on screen data.
I'd be very interested to know if any difference exists between the ROMS as well. I assume that the Vatical version has a splash screen for Vatical on it somewhere, but this may have been removed or disabled for the Telegames version. I don't remember if my copy has anything like that in the on screen data or not. I'd have to check. Anyhow, I'm just very curious about this, and I wanted to know what everyone else thought of it, since some people do get into variations really hardcore, and they usually aren't very easy to spot.

By Research I mean "Go out and find it and buy it."

We've gotta teach you the "no Credit Card bill" method of research, Dangerboy :-).

Well, yeah, of course. What did you think I meant? :)
A guy who spent upwards of 1500 bucks on two videogame systems because they have a special color really can't be the arbiter of setting spending limits, right? Mwahaha.
