Welcome to this week's Monday Morning MAME Club Posting. Every Monday, a member of the MAME club will pick a new game for you to play in MAME! All you have to do to participate is install MAME, download the ROM of the week from this message, and then post your thoughts about the game! You can post a full review of the game or simply tell us what you liked/didn't like about the game. Have you played this game before? Have you played it in an actual arcade? Do you like the genre? How did it run on your computer? Did you beat it? If so, how long did it take? What was your high score? How far can you get? Did you have any problems emulating the game? When writing your review, post it right here in the sticky topic and include any thoughts you have about the game. Remember, YOU are the reviewer. Let us know anything and everything you think about the game! Just remember, if you want people to respond during YOUR week, you should play along on OTHER weeks!

The ROM of the week is: Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters (available HERE (http://www.robohara.com/mameclub/eprom.zip)!)
KLOV Link for the game: HERE (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=7716)

Just a heads up: The link doesn't work. The site isn't down because the main page loads for me. This game looks awesome. I can't wait to try it out. :)

this game is jsut simply awesome!
I grew up with the Amiga port as a kid and it actually got me creeped out a little as the game is so frantic and in a way a survival horror (especially when your dead young!)
Recommended!

I picked this game because I use to play it when I was young and it was one of those arcade games that was found in only one place. I never saw this game outside of this arcade park down here in Miami which at the time was called "castle park". Never came out for any console (except the computer), so I played this game a few times and I have never forgotten it. it is a unique game in my opinion. The isometric view was something not used in many games at that time, and the cartoon look gave it a feeling you were inside an animation flick gone awry. You have to remember that the graphics back then were considered awesome. Who can argue with such a name. I mean, this has got be the longest name of any arcade, ever. The co-op mode is just the icing on the cake for this awesome (yet rare) game. try it out, you won't regret it.

My first experience this one as well. I love the art style. It's filled with numerous small touches in the animation. It's fun to try and find them.

My main complaint is with the controls. It could be my Gravis, but everything seems to be second behind when switching directions. That's an annoyance to say the least. It probably would've worked better with a dual joystick set-up.
