My list, feel free to make comments

SNES

The violinist of Hamlin Enix 7/10 like SMB on crack, really cool.
Ghost Chaser (probably the beat retro beat em up next to super double dragon)
Do Rae me adventure aka Super Mazesong (very cutesy but cool) 7/10
Super Bonk 2 (really nice upgrade looks and gameplay, much better than Super Bonk and I mean a lot better but still seems to be missing something?) 7/10
Iron Commando (metal slug meets final fight) 6/10
Shibubu Man Zero (megaman meets Street Fighter really, really cool but a bit short, man they should have made a squeal)
Go, go Ackman 1 & 3 like SMB with really nice graphics and really good humour not the greatest ever but still unique and bizarre just makes a 7/10

N64
Conkers Bad Fur Day 7/10 humour is great and real unique game too

PC
The Rage 7/10 Beat em up Streets of Rage in 3D with GTAesue graphics

I’ll add more later, this is all I could think of off the top of my head.

Also note that I pretty much have read every retro topic here to do with the subject, and I wasn't impressed with Pulseman and *ugh* Claymates no offence just not my style, not terrible games though but I just couldn't stand them due to individual preference my bad.

Shibubu Man Zero.

Shubibin Man Zero on the SFC? I think there's another one of those on either the Famicom or the PC Engine. I'll also point you toward Jim Power for the SNES, Socket for the Genesis, and Adventures of Little Ralph (Chippoke Ralph no Daibouken) for the Playstation. Little Ralph is right up there with CV:SOTN and Umihara Kawase Shun for the best 2D platformers on the PSX. :)

Also, Go Go Ackman is an excellent game. Still need to track down a copy for myself...and welcome to the forums. ;)

I think there's another one of those on either the Famicom or the PC Engine. But are they as good as the SFC version?

Yeah this game is really refreshing, the forums are awesome even just to read somebody really cares about this place, can't say that about most retro sites.

That's true sometimes. I don't like to talk down on sites. Just having good quality sites with great info and people is what I like.

Also I don't think this one is as obscure though, But try BAD DUDES for NES or MAME. My Brother's fave Arcade Game BTW.

"platformers battle"?

do you mean regular platformers? if so I highly reccomend the Klonoa series, and the first Jak and daxter game. Heart of darkness on psx is also great.

I haven't actually tried a Klonoa (gba, ps1 ??) game, how would you compare it with Donkey Kong Country or Sonic 2 is it up there with the best or would you say it's more of a rayman, Mr nuts affair?

new submission

N64
Duck Dodgers 64 7/10
Surprisingly good, not Mario 64 but still some really nice unique qualities that make it rather spiffy.

New entry

The Misadventures of Flink for the Genny (exlusive I think does sega cd really count?)

a really, really great game 8/10

an interesting platformer with rpg elements and a very good gameplay style, it seems to have some sort of physics engine imo

a cut above most Platformers imo
