i have been noticing a lot of people (not all just a lot) are dissing the Nintendo DS. Myself i love my DS. True, it dosnt have the biggest library, but it is backwards compatable. Plus i like the little carts, and i say once company really warm up to the touch screen you will see a lot of nice, quirky uses for it. So if youre a big DS fan post ur love, if you don't give a good reason ( no it sucks 'cause PSP is better.) :D

I'm not much of a fan of your DS, but mine is pretty bitching... :D

The System is Great, the slick new cases are... slick, and it does have an Excellent line-up. Its problem is exactly what everyone keeps mentioning, Between Launch and Now, we've seen little support. But March is the month to end all that! Pac Pix, Yoshi Touch and Go, Polarium... yay!

I'll start loving it more when Castlevania, Metroid: Hunters and Yoshi Touch all come out. :D I'd also love to import Goemon some time, but since I haven't seen any sort of review or gameplay footage yet it may be awhile.

I'm sure there are other DS fans out there. Somewhere.......... ;)

Oh, and about the tiny cartridges...aren't they kindof TOO small? I mean, maybe it's a scheme by Nintendo, so that people will lose them and then buy them again.

We've gotten a ton traded back in at my EB Games. Most of them are using the money to preorder the PSP.

you're not alone. i only have warioware and sm64ds, and i love it. sure the library is lackluster, but if we have to wait for more titles they better be worth it ;)

I for one, love my DS as well. Granted I only have SM64DS, and Wario Ware, and I really feel that the software selection thus far is too small and none of the titles (except for the 2 I mentioned, IMO) are all that exciting. Nevertheless, things will turn around.

For all of you hating on the DS and its (lack of) games, remember when the PS2 launched: All the launch titles were sub-standard. I baught 2 games with my PS2 on launch day, and returned both, and did not have a single PS2 game for 6 months because none of the games interested me. Having a slow launch does not mean a system will fail. There have been systems in the past with a slow start that did just fine.

Way too many people are jumping to conclusions, making outlandish statements like Nintendo is already abandoning the platform.

I love my ds too. In all honesty all the titles I have are really fun (SM64DS, Mr Driller, Feel the Magic) and I haven't even beaten all of them completely yet, so I don't feel there's a huge lack of software. It just equates to one game a month that's plenty for me. Plus I still haven't gotten wario or zoo keeper which look like they are tons of fun too. I have fun playing it and that's really all that matters right?

I cant wait for Animal Crossing DS :D

Nope. I've learnt to NEVER EVER buy a system until it's been out at LEAST a year or two. The Saturn taught me that.

Feel the Magic and Mario 64 DS were a great time!

Working on unplayed GBA games on it now....also waiting for CV and Metroid...

I have Fell the Magic, and I Finally got my Hori screen protectors in, so I finally played it, and damn is it fun.

Btw, those Hori screen protectors are impossible to get on without having some hair/air bubbles get under them. OH well, atleast the screen is protected, not like the hair/bubbles harm anything.

I've already expressed my love for the DS in a thread a couple days ago, don't feel like pimpin' it back up this morning.

Just want to let you know you're not alone, and I love my DS more than you. :P

I too love my ds. I have feel the magic, m64ds, and wario ware. The lack of games is understandable, but I've never encountered that problem because I don't have that kinda time on my hands. I still havn't opened all mini games on m64ds, or beat FTM on the harder mode. I'm also totally siked for the yoshi and castlevania games.

I like my DS... I got Metroid (Demo) Mario 64 ds, And Asphalt urban GT. I spend most of my time on SM64DS. I even use the Alarm clock feature. (I leave the AC plugged in so the battery does not get low)

I don't have a DS yet, but it's mainly due to financial reasons (I'm not really in a hurry to get one, although maybe I will over the next month or two). Since I never had a N64, Mario 64 DS would be a must-have title for me. I loved Wario Ware on the GBA, so the new one's a must-have, and I can't wait for Animal Crossing DS and Metroid Prime: Hunters.

Only thing missing: a Tony Hawk game (THUG 2 is in development for the PSP). Although I love the Tony Hawk series on consoles, I can't stand the GBC/GBA ports with the isometric view.

Those protectors really aren't necessary. I played the hell out of FtM and beat every game on Hell mode. My screen is in perfect condition. I've heard others mention that the stylus action gets so intense in this game that scratching or screen breakage could occur. That is absolutely false, from my experience. The DS touch screen is extremely durable.

I, for one, am not so concerned about the current lack of titles.

It's giving me the time to finish the games I already own (100% on WarioWare Touched!, Super Mario 64 DS, and about 75% on Feel the Magic), which feels great! I hate having a backlog of Gamecube games that includes stuff like Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, MGS: The Twin Snakes, and about 20 more games that are well worth playing.

Plus, it's also allowing me to have the money to purchase the new DS games that I want when they are released, which is more money in Nintendo's pocket. Unlike the Gamecube, or the GBA, where I'm so far behind, that I almost always wait until the games I want are on sale for $20 or less ($10-$15 for GBA), unless I mark it as a must have.

And, I'm now enjoying the heck out of the stack of GBA titles that I own but have never played - it's great to finally sit down and dive headfirst into Metroid: Zero Mission or Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga - games that I've been waiting to crack into.

if i'm not mistaken didnt the DS come with Metriod. or is that a diff version?

I dig my DS, but man it has been a dry spell for games...

So I mostly play GBA games on it now (which look awesome). Also, in between Sprung and the Urbs my girlfriend plays it more than me :P

Mario and Feel the Magic are very cool and I like Zoo Keeper. Want to get Warioware soon. Wouldn't mind picking up Ridge Racer and Mr. Driller used sometime...

I'm interested to see how Pac Pix and Atari Retro Classics come out. I have high hopes for NFSU2 and the new Castlevania...

I'm curious about Nintendos lack of a new strong line up to go head to head with the PSP launch. But then again I think the PSP is overpriced right now.

Cheers,
Ben

No, it was a DEMO. Not the actual, complete game.

Ah man, I too have such a big stack of unplayed GBA games! And a HUGE HUGE list of GBA games I still need to buy.

I'm not too fond of my DS but I'm hoping my love for it will increase once Castlevania comes out. I'm looking foward to that. I will probably also try and check out Warioware once I get the chance cause it looks really fun.

Don't have a DS, won't buy a DS unless they think of a new way of using that second screen, OR if the thing lands in the bargain bin at rock-bottom prices. Even the port of my favorite game of all time, with new stars, doesn't seem to be enough to get me to buy into the gimmick.

Thought I'd expound on how much I love my GBASP though. The GBASP is a perfectly executed portable SNES (basically), polished in every way. Unlike the DS, which is a gimmick-ridden portable N64, executed clumsily (although with some neat toys).
