I was just wondering, have there been any GBA games released in the US that DO NOT have the "Only For" Branding above the Game Boy Advance Logo?

All of my 25 or so GBA boxes have it.

I've always found it ironic that they have always done this, knowing that their future consoles would be backwards compatible.

Sports games, and Tony Hawk games don't have them. I'm sure there are others, though. (Do the NES classic series have them?) :hmm:

Yes, the NES classics boxes have them. I guess this is an american thing because my european Minish Cap box doesn't have it.

Yeah I always thought it was funny that the ports would have them. :P

heh I always thought of this as well. It doesnt make sense when the DS is backwards compatible for GBA games, could drive some uninformed parents or kids to not buy the game thinking they cant play it on a ds.

I think they did it at first to drive the point home that they would not play on a normal Gameboy or a GB Color... so it was "Only For" Gameboy Advance.

That's what I thought. I remember these from the GBC days....

personally i always thought it was go give customers a no-brainer. like you can ONLY play super mario advance on the gba, nothing else, only nintendo. wanna play mario & luigi? get a gba, and get the game. its all exclusive.
thats how i understood it, but hey, its nintendo, they do lots of eccentric things.
