I usually only play handheld systems at home lol.
Ha ha...my laptop never leaves my desk! What a waste.
Im too psyched about Wipeout Pure to wait. Im a huge fan of the series and I cant believe its lasted as long as it has. I dont know anybody else (offline) who even likes it. Id hug Sony for letting it out as a launch title! (and I aint no hugger!)

I'm almost never an early adopter of anything (including the DS), and this is no different. Given Sony's track record of faulty hardware for the PS2, there's no way I'll be getting the PSP. That and the fact that there really aren't any games that are "must-haves" to justify a system that expensive.

And I don't know where that guy got his info that most retailers are requiring you to pre-order the $400 set-up. Totally bogus.
Well have you tried to pre-order just the PSP from EB Games, Gamestop, FYE, Toys R Us? I know I have and they won't let you do it. I also visited the websites for Best Buy and Circuit City and they won't let you order just the console. Target doesn't even have the hardware available on their website, only the games! Thats 7 retailers that won't let you pre-order just the PSP.
But hey, you know more than anyone else as usual. x_x Here's a clue, instead of always attacking anyone who has something that you perceive as negative to say about the Sony PSP (and I don't consider my statement a negative one, unless you don't want to spend $400 for a PSP at launch) why don't you actually provide some evidence to counter the argument. For instance, you could have said, "Welll Store X is taking pre-orders for $249.99." Of course you didn't.
I havent been online in a few days so this is probably old news but GameXchange is taking preorders for the system. $249.99

I just preordered a Value Pack from GameCrazy.
I also pre ordered Wipeout Pure but it wasnt part of a bundle or anything.
So there you go...want a PSP alone? Go to GameCrazy.

wow the funny thing is that I always trash talking people who buy these handhelds at launch becuz of the lack of game titles, but when looking at the PSP's launch titles I have to say it looks pretty nice. Im contradicting myself but o well, the PSP looks very very nice so Im buying one, Im selling off my Xbox bundle and GC bundle, just to get one.
Ill probly be getting, Lumines, Untold Legends and Twisted metal or Metal gear with my order when it comes out. Why didnt I pre-order at Gamestop? Becuz Hawaii has like 4-7 Gamestops located on the Island alone and have an overabundance of everything. And not to mention other Local Gamestores.

Second...were less than a month away from the launch. Why havent we seen any commercials for it? I like to think advertising helps to sell a product. LOL
Recently acquired a Sony PSP Bustop Shelter Poster from their advert campaign over here in Pasadena, SW Corner of Fair Oaks/California Blvd. I've never been a big fan of Sony advertisments, but this one is quite nice on the huge bustop size medium. :hmm: Subtle too.

Yeah, I'm surprised I haven't seen a single PSP ad. I see DS ones all the time.

Do you remember any of their VERY first commercials?

They were really good. All mysterious and dark. Other than that, yeah...Sony adverts normally suck.
I wish they would advertise this damn PSP! I want it to do well. They need to get people talking about it. Everybodys so busy talking about the new XBOX2 and N:Rev rumors, theres no positive PSP buzz.

Where did you hear $250? An official Sony document? I'd speculate that EBgames & Gamestop are over guestimating. I got $185 from the Japanese launch price.
I wont buy a package deal. I'll be heading over to the Kmart in the ghetto where nobody has enough money to buy a PSP. (Thats how I got my DS when EVERYBODY else was sold out 3 days after release. LOL )
Hopefully there will be a non-deluxe PSP there.[/b]
Funny you should say that. Sony is making you buy a package deal by only offering the PSP Value Pack. At launch we don't get the opportunity of buying what we would like. And yes it's $249.99 MSRP.

Originally, I was gonna pass up on the PSP because of the catalogue of rehash launch titles, the high prices of games, and the short battery life, but I changed my mind.
Got the system pre-ordered at Gamestop. Forgot to pre-order games. Hope I won't miss out, cuz I want to pick up Lumines, MGA, and Wipeout Pure.
What's the deal with them releasing games 1 week before launch?

Eh...I can handle that. I was going to have to buy headphones and a memory card anyway. I would have bought Spidey 2 seperatly too. I dont think its so bad for Sony to make everyone sample all the goods. Its a new product, may as well give the early adopters a well rounded package...good for word-of-mouth advertising. IMO, the value pack isnt as cheap a tactic as making us buy 3 games with it.
I have a question...
Does anybody know the max size of memory card the PSP can handle? Is there a firmware update that will increase that number?
And what the ellh was the name of that I.Q. sequel comming for the PSP?

I am sure the PSP will be available in the "value package" for $249.99 after launch and after pre-orders are fulfilled, but as it stands most retailers are not letting you purchase it for only $249.99; rather they are forcing consumers to buy the package deal if they want a PSP at release.
I may be a dick for bringing this back up, but I just want to make sure esquire realizes how dead wrong he was back in this thread, now that many of us have gone out on launch day and purchased a PSP without a bundle.
