When I'm at work, I listen to the radio all day long. I also have a MP3 player that I listen to music on.

Now, I've heard that some radio shows and stuff like that will actually do interviews and stuff and save it in a MP3 form, so that people can listen to it on their MP3 players.

Does anybody know of any video game radio shows that allow you to listen to stuff on MP3?

I would love to listen to some video game talk while I'm working.

You've tried www.retrogamingradio.com right... it's all mp3. Shane tends to digress a lot.. but that's what fast forward is for :)

You're talking about "Pod-Casting. It's pretty much a different way for people to digest "radio"-like content. Someone records an hour long "show" as an mp3 and distributes it and the listener can enjoy it whenever they want, similar to to the way that people digest TV conten with Tivo.

There's Gaming Uncensored, a weekly show from the West Texas A&M University radio, available via live webcasting or via podcasting. It lasts approximately 1 hour.

I'm actually in the process of creating one of these myself. I was interested in much the same way as you are - I listen to this stuff all day at work - so I listened to as many of these gaming podcasts as I could find. The majority of the ones I've heard are either people who rant about everything else non game related for 20 minutes and then read the upcoming release list from Gamestop and say "Ok, Splinter Cell is my game of the week - the graphics rock, and it looks like fun.", or they're just poorly done - poor audio, and poor content. I really didn't find one that I felt like I had to catch every time they updated. That's not to say that it doesn't happen - Coverville is my favorite podcast - and I make it a point to listen every time he updates. But I haven't found a video game podcast that I'd want to listen to every week.

That said, I'd like to see one done well, so I figured - hey, might as well give it a shot myself. The worst I can do is not be successful - which doesn't bother me.. I'd rather try it with the hope of being successful and then fail, rather than not try it at all.

It's probably going to take me a few weeks to get set up and running, but I'll let you know when it does.

That said, what makes a show like this worth listening to? Any suggestions?

I'm treating this much the same way that I treat driving - if another driver does something that I cannot stand out on the road, then I do everything in my power to not do that same thing myself. I figure the same applies here. LOL

You could always listen to my podcast, The Paunch Stevenson Show. My friend Greg and I discuss and often make fun of everything, especially if it’s something dumb, annoying, or of little importance. Show topics include video games, current events, movies, celebrity gossip, old cartoons, silly web sites, food, pop culture, idiotic personal experiences, annoying people, etc.

This week, we talk about the Xbox 360 and PlayStation. Last week, we talked about The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. etc. Give it a try...it's free!
