I just started getting into Texas Hold 'em the other night, and I was wonder if the game was worth picking to learn the game better and become skilled at it. I wanna win some money outta my friends ;)

I heard it's pretty good. Seems like it'd be fun on Xbox Live. Anybody play this on Live? Gimme a reason to finally buy this.

eh...it could be better....you start with $1000, when you lose that, you just make a new character and start over.....now, if it were for real money charged to your live account, that would be a different story, but when its not for real money, the game of poker changes because people dont care about stupid bets and poor calls....and in single player, the computer opponents leave a lot to be desired
nothing beats playing with real cards, chips, money, and friends

A couple of additions to that review:
1, if your PS2 is modded, it basically won't let you play online (even if the game is an original).
2, The EyeToy stuff is much more fun than I mentioned. I love seeing people and their pretend poker faces.
The game's not great, but its worth the $20 MSRP IMHO. I'm usually online every other night as Flack.

The 1 player AI stinks, but online it is pretty allright. The comment aobut play money is true. People don't play poker the same when it is for free.

i had fun for awhile, until i hit a table where these two guys were shouting every obscenity in the book. i dont mind a little bad language, but being called a nigger and jew every time i call gets a tad frustrating

i dont see any reason to buy these poker games. you can play a better game of poker online for free at at least a dozen different sites.

If you have some friends that are really into online poker, it would be worth it for the Xbox Live functionality. Otherwise you can download PartyPoker.com for free and always have a game going.

this game is very fun with xbox online with the chat going. way worth $20.

I'm a HUGE poker buff.
If you have weekly or even monthly poker nights in real life, don't waste your time.
Heck.... if you have no one to play with, throw 20 bucks on a poker site and play .05/.10 pot limit games. Much more fun in my opinion.
I found the AI horrible!

weekly or monthly.....at college, we have daily games...ahhaha...we play poker way way too much
which is why i disliked this game so much....im so used to normal players that care about their money

The only thing that sucks is the fact that everybody "dupes" money and is rich online. I mean going up against people who bet all the time because they dont care if they lose kind of sucks. Other then that it can be fun. If you get a game going with friends only can be great !
