I realized yesterday after doing the TRU deal, that I had 499 games. My first reaction was to make it official, so I went and bought Viewtiful Joe for Gamecube. That put me at a solid 500 games. This is a milestone for me, and I hope to get much, much higher.

There is one important thing I did realize though, it is not mearly about the numbers, but about the fun of hunting for the games. At one point, I was only concerned with numbers, and wanted to get a buttload of sports games. I ended up only getting 5 or 6, because I realized that I would never play them, and what is the fun of buying unsealed games if you are not going to even play them.

Like I said, I am not going to quit collecting anytime soon, so 500 is nothing compared to what it will be in the future. How many games I have through numbers are not all that important, but 500 is a pretty good milestone.

I honestly would have never gotten into collecting like I am if it had not been for the great folks here at dp and at G4. You may be asking yourself, why G4? I found out about dp from a random show that talked about dp for a few minutes.

This is a great community that I am honored to be a part of, and I hope to be around for years to come.

On that note (not to steal anybody's line, but)...

Yes if it was not for DP I would have never taken game collecting so seriously. It totaly re-shaped my life and it is now my #1 hobby. I currently have about 350 games, which I am totaly happy with as I do not have a job and never did, but once I finaly get one I plan to expand my collection to 500 games easily.
I myself do not buy sports games, I buy games that look interesting or atleast I do not own, and of course buy ones I will play.

Congratulations. :) I hit 500 not too long ago myself and posted about it here. Since then my collection hasn't grown too considerably (up to 570 now), but I'm guessing I'll hit 600 by the end of the year. Not as nice and even sounding as 500, though. :)

Hey congrats! The 500 game mark will keep you occupied for years to come, unfortunatly though (if you are like us), it won't satisfy you.

Good job! I finally hit 1,000 last December, but progress has been pretty slow since then. I doubt it'll speed up anytime soon due to my bank account being lower than I expected.
