help with a super scope 6

question i bought a super scope 6 with the censor and the game and i put batteries in it but i can get it to work and i have put the censor plug in both controller spots however i dont have the little plastic scope could that be the problem please help

The reciver needs to be in the middle of the top of your TV, and plugged into Controller port 2. There is also a switch on the Scope to turn it on and off (If you didn't see that)
