Here I am on Thursday in the local game shop. The proprietor, knowing I collect older systems, has squirreled aside a TurboGrafx16 with 1 controller, A/V adapter, AC adapter and two Bonk games. He's wanting $50 for the lot. TG16 is not a system I know well so I put to you, my fellow boardies, as to whether this is a good buy or not? Poll ends at 1915 Mountain Time. Thanks for your input.

buy it, if you see games on the wild near where you live. If not, i'd say be picky about it.

Sounds good to me. Especially if one of those Bonk games happiens to be the third one. ;)

Buy it. That's not a bad price. Although the games are getting out of control price wise on ebay and such.

Yes, VERY yes. It'll be worth every penny. All the bonk games rock. And If one of those bonks is the third one, then It's worth more than $50 ALONE.

Uodate: Price has dropped to $45. Games are Bonk's Revenge and New Adventure Island. Everything else is the same.
Wi-Fi in the game shop? Bad idea...

Don't buy it. Instead, save the $50 and put it towards a duo. Now you can play both american and japanese CD games, too.

I hear that TG16 is a good system, But this is just one person's opinion (In my area)
I haven't played TG16 so i don't know if it is worth playing. However if this is the first time you have seen one in your area you'd better get it. I haven't seen one in the wild yet.

I had one briefly before deciding that I could settle for emulation (yeah, yeah, I know) but there are some great games available for it. The Bonk games are among the best, and my personal favorite, of the mascot games (Sonic, Mario, etc.). Ninja Spirits is a pretty common thrill too. Pretty decent price I'd say.

I'd say yes. If those games are both complete, that's $35 at DP value right there.

At the end...it looks like a tie vote, but I think I'll go ahead and grab it anyway. Thanks for the input, gang.

You'll be glad you did. There's something about the TG16/PCE line... Cool stuff. I was able to snag a complete TG16 in a trade, and I've never regretted it. The games are hard tofind, but all the more collectible because of it.

Get it probably one of the most "under rated" system ever by (NEC).
Still i feel a Turbo Duo R is better even a Super Grafix.
How ever if you can a CD unit for the, TG16 plus have it region modded you would be set then.
