Yep another one asking for your input - thanks for reading.

Sad as it is I'm a little bit proud of my 100% rating, albeit mostly from buying and selling a few old ornaments my Mum doesn't want any more. Finally I got around to listing a few of my unwanted games, including FF6 for PS1 at 99P and 9.99 BIN. So I'm chuffed when someone BINs it in under 5 hours. No payment is received after 3 days so I send an invoice and get no reply. 4 days later (Wed 2nd) I send another with a note politely pointing out it's been a week and could he please either pay or at least let me know he intends to pay. Today I get this in the e-mail:

"There must be some sort of mix up becasue i have already purchesd and recived this item from another ebay seller!?"

And he's talking out of his ass. Check his feedback - nothing since 28th Oct last year, and a quick scan of recent FF6 auctions comes up empty.

So here's the question - I really want to let him know I'm not that stupid - if he'd just said he didn't want it I'd have let him off but now he's lying to me and I hate that. He BINed it - not overbid himself in a moment of excitement - and he's not claiming an account hack as he's "got the item". So do I e-mail him asking for the details of the auction he's allegedly completed and risk getting that first neg, or do I let it go? This is the first video game I've sold and already I'm getting crap!

Don't worry so much about your feedback, I know you're the same as me probably and will anyways, but eventually you will get a negative and it will be for something unavoidable.

I'm about to get one soon, why? Because I sold a PS2 game to a seller that has a PS2 that wont play purple back disks, He gets Disk Read Errors. My fault? nope. But normally I'd be the nice guy and say "send it back for a refund", unfortunately though, the guy decided that he needed to run a DISK DOCTOR on it. :eek 2: The disk was mint too. If you've got any experience with a disk doctor than you know why I won't give a refund.

Now, in your case, I guess I'd say push it. The buyer is being an ass. I'd tell him that he must pay, otherwise you will report him to eBay, file a non-paying bidder claim & leave negative feedback. If he still doesn't there's nothing you can do but to follow through.

Don't let buyers walk all over, believe me, you're not gonna lose customers due to one negative out of over 250 positives.

that's my .02

Yep, agree. E-mail Ebay and tell them that he didnt pay.
I e-mailed Ebay today because i bought 4 NES games over 2 months ago and I still havnt recived them. I e-mailed the seller and I havnt gotten any reply yet.
I will give him negative feedback very soon if i dont recive any answer.
If he give me revenge negative feedback ebay will remove them. What reason would he have to give me negative feedback? The same in your case, what reason would the buyer have to give you negative feedback?

Hopefully it will all be solved. Good luck :)

It's great to have a 100% postive record, but I can pretty much guarantee you it won't last forever.

And let's face it .. ebay only works if people use the feedback system effectively, to highlight to the rest of the community who to avoid.

I have two negs. Both are from non-paying bidders. However I have left probably about 20 negatives for other non-paying bidders, and have not received anything in return.

I would say, file a non-paying bidder report first. Sometimes this is enough to prompt people to pay up. I generally only leave a negative for NPBs now after I have finished the NPB process, as that verifies that I have given them every opportunity to pay.

After that, do everyone else on ebay a favour, and neg their ass!!

P.S. jajaja - I don't know where you are getting your information from, but you should be aware that eBay willl not remove negative feedback left for you under any circumstances, unless (a) it contains obscenities or (b) you and the other party both agree to mutually withdraw the feedback left for eachother.

Other than that they will simply point blank refuse to remove your feedback. It sucks, but I think they are right in the end, because otherwise all sorts of scamsters would be pestering all the time to have their negs removed.

vroomfunkel: Ok, i asumed they would remove negative feedback that was given for no reason. Then its very easy to give a revening negative feedback :(

Thanks for the quick replies! Have sent this with a copy of the sale receipt from eBay:

Re: Your e-mail “There must be some sort of mix up becasue i have already purchesd and recived this item from another ebay seller!?”

Please find below the mail from eBay showing you as the buyer of the above item.

It would appear that you have not yet left feedback for the seller from which you have obtained a copy of Final Fantasy 6. Please forward to me the auction number for the item that you have paid for and received so that I can pass the information on to eBay who will no doubt wish to investigate this matter.

Should there be no confusion and you did buy my item, please send payment now. If neither a satisfactory response nor payment is not received within three days then an NPB (non-paying bidder) report will be filed.

I wonder if he'll fess up now?

File a NPB (Non paying Bidder) form. I have only had problems with 2-3 buyers out of about 77 I've dealt with. One just WOULDN'T PAY! He kept making excuses, so I filed a NPB form to get my money back and luckily the second highest bidder was interested. Don't leave a negative unless you want to get one back. If you file a NPB and he negs you then neg back. You see if he gets enough NPB then he will be banned. You'll be hurting him without him hurting you.

He did bid and win 2 copies...

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws1/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewBidItems&userid=carrcikc&completed=1&sort=3&all=1&rows=0

He is probably just a confused newb.. I get them all the time.

oh dear... confused noob syndrome.. well, another way to sort out these matters is to suggest that they send you enough money to cover your selling fees and consider the matter closed.

This is often enough to resolve something like this where it seems unlikely that you will get paid for the item. You don't lose out, and no-one has to leave a neg. It's worth suggesting anyway ..

Ah rats, I must have missed that one when I scanned through. I must admit I didn't try searching by his name - keep forgetting that function is there!

We'll see what he says, OK so he got mixed up but he's still under contract and his "My eBay" screen should tell him he bought two. If he doesn't want two copies (and I don't blame him for that, neither do I) then I'll ask him for the listing fee.
