Its fairly obvious that I've been gaming for many years now...one look at my hands (I'm pretty sure I'm leaving myself open for some masturbation jokes by saying this :fist:) and you'll find a callus on each of my index fingers (predominatly from that damn sqaure Nintendo controller). Along with two thumbs that have god-like button mashing capabilities. But those non-ergonomic controllers have scarred me for life!

When playing online poker, I'm very likely to smash my fist on my desk, and bruise it, and in the process emotionally scar my wife. On the video gaming side... similar, but a bit more subtle and quiet. I admit it. I have a terrible temper, am a bad sportsman, and prefuse swearing and banging on shit makes me feel better.

Is that where your username comes from? ;)

everyone carries a finger with a little less skin from track and field, special the dreamcast version, while going for sliding ur thumb accross two buttons technique

Track and Field was the first thing I though of when I read this subject. I used to love playing that game back when it was new and in my local arcade. The only problem was that I developed blisters so big that I couldn't play the game for weeks at a time.

I own a X and o's football, enough said. :P
if you have played it before you probably have already figures out what injury im talking about, when your skin pinches in between the track ball and 'control panel'. it has never drawn blood but man does it hurt.

That's about it, I have never hurt myself with an actual controller.

once when i was modding my computer, i put the handle of my soldering iron in my teeth, and, uh, dropped it on my face by accident. does that count?

one time i was playing Halo co-op with my dad and i started getting dizzy and my head started hurting, and i could'nt feel my arm. no scars from that but it was frightening.

oh yeah, can't forget my hand being smashed by my friend who got mad cause he kept dying in wario land 4, and hit my hand with the GBASP! (not on purpose)

I've torn the skin of my thumb open on numerous occasions in button masher games. I think that's about it as far as injuries go. Surprisingly, frantic playing of Mario Party's joystick game never did anything to me but leave a joystick indentation on my thumb for a few hours.

the shy guy wind up game is the onlything in a videogame to ever caused physical pain on me, it literaly loosens my skin from my hand, ouch!

Nintendo actually sold/offered a glove for Mario Party 1 after they got enough complaints.

Injuries...yeah, sprained DDR ankle. Swollen up even.

I believe they had to give them away free, up to 5 per household or something like that. I can't remember exactly how much legal action ended up being involved, though.

Sounds intresting.... I have never seen/heard of it. Anyone have pics, or one for sale?

I used to get pretty emotional when I played the ole NES way back when.
Whenever I played Castlevania or Megaman and lost, I would slam my open palm right into into the controller ports. I have SCARS in the vague shape of the very end of the controller cord. I'm telling you, it's sick.

Not much in recent years, but when the Lynx was still 'fresh', I used to have Lynx Thumb all the time - form using the darn pad on the system. Thumb used to hurt like hell!
