Problem with MLB 2k5 for XBOX

i've never had any problems with any of my games but this one. in the middle of playing a game it will glitch out and say the disc is dirty or damaged (i just bought it new). one time it kept showing the same replay over and over which i couldnt end, and another it showed the players running to the dugout and just standing there which i couldnt end. i've played 6 games complete but its happened 4 times. what could be the problem?

Sorry, I can't solve your problem, but I had a similar incident occur with a copy of the game Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick for Xbox. Sucked too, because it was the last copy they had during the CC $5 sale. I would try returning it for another copy of the same game (most retailers allow this) to see if that helps anything.
