Which SKATE OR DIE game is better: 1 or 2?

So which SOD to you all like better? I actually play both games alot, too this day, but have to go with 2. The game looks better and I like the vertical ramp on the game outside, where the girl comes out of the house when you are doing good. The game is really fun to me.
I have more memories on 1, being as I got the game in the first weeks it was released and didn't play #2 probably until like '95 or something. And #1 was my first game I played my brand new NES ADVANTAGE on. That thing really worked great on how high you could jump, you just had to turn the turbo on. Otherwise, I couldn't get any points on that competition without using the Advantage.

this is such a tricky question!

number one was very cool for it's time, i still remember playing joust and downhill race a lot, also the jam was very fun, but the adventure part of the secuel, has cinemas, and a great musical soundtrack.

I also love the way the skater splits in two when he falls in the middle of the middle (:P) ramp.

i have both...but will go with the first one...because of childhood memeries, and i think it is a better game overall

2 had an unbelievably fun halfpipe, but the "story mode" or whatever you want to call it was totally bogus, dudes. Skate or Die 1 is the one I keep coming back to, especially with the ability to arrange Pool Joust tournaments.

For those of you that loved Skate or Die 2's halfpipe, you can get a portable version in Skate or Die Tour de Thrash for the Game Boy. It's almost better than the NES pipe because of the portability.

I've only played SoD1, so it's the automatic winner. Still damn fun to this day.

I liked #2 better. Mainly because it was one of the first NES games that I played that actually had peoples voices in it (actually Ikari Warriors 2 had voice, but it was horrible). The title screen alone was the bomb back in the day.

LOL , I think the half pipe is most peoples reasons for liking #2. I know that is one thing that swayed my decision to pick #2. The thing is just so much fun!

This post is coming in late...but hands down the winner is Skate or Die 2 for the halfpipe. Easily, the most addicting and greatest mini-game off all time, puts THPS to shame IMO. Nothing better than pulling off a McTwist to get the girl to come out and then getting the star in the upper left for a bonus 5000 pts. Spend many hours trying to best the mysterious K.I.M. on the scoreboard.[/code]

I like part one better, because I think the story mode in 2 was lame, but competing in events California-Games-style never gets old. The soundtrack on part 1 is far superior as well, probably my favorite soundtrack on a NES game.

Yes I love it too! That alone was one of the decisions that ALMOST made me pick #1 instead of #2.
