Ok, so I just took a break from playing Shadow Hearts to come down here to the computer to comment on the strangest enemy I have ever seen. Its called a Rage Demon/ Mournful Demon. It appears to be a ghost in a white sheet, but the instant that it turns around to attack you, a long slim protrusion can be seen from its crotch region. To top it all off, after it attacks you with its hands, it literally slaps you across the face with its "unit". If anyone has a front pic or wants to comment about another strange/disgusting/wierd monster they encountered in an RPG please do.

It's the white creature in the middle! Watch out! His unit is a deadly weapon.

I NEED to elaborate. I don't think I quite caught this creature in all its glory. The piece, if measured, has got to be at least two feet long. I'm scared to enter random encounter, I can't stand to look at it anymore :eek 2: .

Few things will ever top the New Age Retro Hippie of Earthbound. Well, maybe the Scalding Cup of Coffee.

I also found it rather odd that Ness fights off the French Kiss of Death in Magicant. Is this supposed to represent Ness's nascent sexuality? After all, in the Japanese version, Ness is naked at the time. I probably shouldn't think about this.

You think that one's bad? You've only just begun to scratch the surface of insane and disturbing enemies in that brilliant game. I won't spoil anything, but keep playing it---It's easily one of favorite games ever. The sequel is even better, but the enemy design is a bit more tame---Not as many "sweet mother of god, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" moments.

Anyways, everybody ever owes it to themselves to play shadow hearts. 10 out of 10 doctors agree that by playing shadow hearts, you will have a 100% percent increase in awesomeness in your life!

LOL

This is the best thread ever.

You know, it's funny, I had thought this game looked cool when it first came out, but it got almost uiversally panned. Now, all of a sudden, everyone is reccomending it to me.

Ha, I was going to suggest to the topic creator, "Play Earthbound," because nearly every enemy in the game is unusual. However, the first thing that popped *immediately* into my mind was the New Age Retro Hippie.

That Shadow Hearts creature looks, hmm, yeah.

Lmao, as soon as I saw this thread I was going to come in here and cite the wang monster from Shadow Hearts but it looks like you were just as disturbed as I was. Yuri got thrusted so horribly. It was terrible.

New Age Retro Hippie, heh, I remember that one. In terms of phallic RPG monsters though, there are quite a few in some of the later entries of the Shin Megami Tensei series/spinoffs, for example Toro from the Japanese version of Revelations Persona. There was a pic floating around Megaten Haven a while back, I'll see if I can find it...

Darn you for reminding that I still need to get the PlayStation Choaniki. :P Choaniki + Mortal Kombat style people = GREATNESS.

I remember playing one of the Moraff RPGs, probably Dungeons of The Unforgiven, that had some incredibly screwed up enemies like garbage cans, junkies and toxic waste (I remember beach balls, too). The game also features the "lesdidian warrior."

I Googled this up if anyone is interested:

Check out the couple from hell and the druggie at the bottom. If I remember right the druggie could poison you by injecting you with drugs.

Heh....I've been recommending Shadow Hearts since it came out. Sadly, no one but me bought it new I think. When the sequel game out, everyone scrambled to get the original and "discovered" it. GREAT game.

I ended up picking it up at a pawn shop for $8 about a year and a half ago, and just never got around to playing it. I felt at the time that there were much better RPGS to waste my time with, but the bottom line is I was wrong. This game is the shit!

Sylentwulf-the thread was about RPGs, not homoerotic Japanese shooters.
LOL LOL LOL

But yeah, acorss al genres, ChoAniki takes the cake for strangest (and gayest, not entirely by coincidence) enemies of all time...

Yo, Iron D, you reading this? You played any of the Cho Aniki games?

Isn't that the Psikyo one?... ugh... To think one of my favorite game companies reduced to Choaniki.

This isn't anywhere Near as strange as anything on here, but I've always found it strange that in the Tales series (and probably more...) you start fighting little rabbits and birds, as if they are some vicious flesh eating creatures...

Make sure you don't get the PlayStation game mixed up with the PS2 game. The PS2 Choaniki rocks, but it doesn't have the digitized people. :P However, it does have an Alice in Wonderland stage with a male Alice continuously losing his dress as the boss, and another boss that's a hideous fat kitty-girl waitress that shakes bullets out of her breasts and ass. :)

I've yet to play the PS1/Saturn Choaniki, but based on the quality of all the other ones, you probably can't go wrong. :)

Sorry, shoes23, for totally changing the topic of your topic. :P

Ah, I forgot Live-A-Live. Most of the enemies are actually fairly normal in that one, but there is an important lesson to be learned from the Prehistoric stage: Lizards should never be used as underwear.

'Nuff said.

Np, we were initally talking about the wang monster from Shadow Hearts anyway...what harm can a talk about a girl shaking bullets out of her breasts do huh? Besides, I'm intrigued now.

I haven't got very far yet, but seeing some of the enemies on Aurora Quest for the PC Engine, they just might make Earthbound's creatures look like your average (non-DQ) slime.

That Mr.Bel;ch slime blob from Earthbound (SENS). It took me forever to figure out how to kill him !!!. I've never seen an end boss that if you attack him incorrectly and cause NO damage, the attack will still show the hp damage. E.g. I would hit him again and again each time seeing that I caused 500+ damage (the boss only has around 700 HP) The problem is that none of them counted because i did not use a special item before the attack. normally attacks that do not work should show a 0 or something !! oh well... that boss was a major time killer !!!
