Hey everyone out there in video game land! Happy Holiday's from the big SM (That's ShinobiMan). Here's an idea for the holiday spirit. Think about all of the games you received as an Christmas present (mainly the one's you enjoyed the most), and have a go at them again. Pretend you are six again and you just opened them. I myself am taking a shot at Golden Axe 2 and ToeJam & Earl. These games will always remind me of a special Christmas when I was five. Of course, you could always pop in Christmas Nights for Saturn and let the good times roll in.

Anyways, enjoy this special time of year... that's mainly what this thread is about.

Also, feel free to recount on some treasured Christmas memories right here.

Mother of God I'm ANCIENT. I was already married when these games came out!

Somewhat side-note. I was looking for some Christmas-themed games outside of the Christmas Nights game, and have only come up with two:

"Daze Before Christmas", a Mega-Drive game by SunSoft. Very bizarre, I'm working on a quickie review to share.

"St. Nick", a TI-99/4A game by Funware. This one's kind of a puzzle game within the action, you have to avoid various evil characters while spelling out "SANTA".

They're both really weird. Can you think of any others?

What about "Santa Claus Saves the Earth" on GBA? another bizarre game coming soon from the makers of Urban Yeti?

Well -- it may not be a console game but check out Santa Claus in Trouble for the PC. It's a platform game... it's pretty neat albeit boring pretty fast. http://www.cdvspiel.de/ -- it's a free download. :-)

Someone mentioned it in another thread... Jazz Jackrabbit Christmas 95 I believe it was.

And there was Lemmings Christmas .

Dont forget the GRINCH for psx. Thats a family favorite :)

Oh yeah, The Grinch!

I think there's a reason why that game was stricken from my memory though. I dunno... maybe the PSX version was good - I never tried that one - but the Dreamcast version was dismally disappointing. And it's the kind of game that I would really like. All of those "objectives", and a really cool main character (who would have been better as the original cartoon persona instead of the more recent movie version). Oh well. I'm glad someone's enjoying it! Thanks for the reminder.

Sweet Idea SM. I will have to go back and play TMNT 2 for NES. I remember when I got this game, and I thought (and wanted it) to be Roger Clemens BAseball, how gald I am now that it wasn't.

I recently found the box to the N64 my parents got us for Christmas one year, and the Layaway date was '96. IS that right? IS it that old? Damn I am only 19, but I feel like I am ancient in Videogame land.

Actually, I'm planning a holiday gaming spree. Since I'll be stuck at work (and won't be the only one there who is) on Christmas, I'm going to haul in a couple of PS1 consoles and an NES, set 'em up in my office on various video monitors, and let my fellow prisoners of teevee know they can come'n'get it - I won't even charge 'em a quarter. I work with a large number of folks for whom the 80s stuff has a lot of meaning (but also a bunch of kids so young that the dust gathered on my Odyssey 2 is older), so Namco Museum and Atari Anniversary Edition type stuff will be the rule.

So that's my contribution to holiday gaming this year: free play, my office, all evening. I just hope everyone knows when to back off and let me get some work done... :P

For those of ya with broadband connections, I hope you grabbed the MPG of what was playing in my office on Christmas, 'cause the file's gone now. :P

I remember opening up Pitfall! on Christmas morning. I have a picture of me with a high enough score to get the patch (maybe 20K, I can't remember) that morning still in my pajammas and robe. :) What a great memory.

This Christmas I got Robotron 2084 and Mario Brothers arcade machines. :o This was a great Christmas as well!
