Just curious since I noticed a lot of you are still playing Ikaruga. If the oft rumoured Game Cube release of Ikaruga happens, who's gonna pick it up?

I personally I like to check out the differencsd in a game between 2 systems, but I don't have a game cube and this isn't enough to make me get one. Maybe I'll pick it up anyway, if it's cheap and worry about getting the 'cube later.

Still, I think it'd be hard to top the DC release. It'd be nice to know what the story is about tho, assmuing it's a US release. And I think it be great if more gamers had a chance to try this game out rather than having it only as an import on a system most passed by long ago by the time of it's release.

I haven't played Ikaruga yet, and part of the reason why I haven't ordered a copy is that I'm hoping for a U.S. Gamecube release. (Other reason? Straight outta Lowcash.) While I don't have a GC yet, It's been on my list ever since Rogue Squadron released.

So if Ikaruga gets a U.S. GC release, then count me in. If the GC version is import-only, then I'll probably just get the DC version, since I understand that all you need is a boot disc to get it running.

If it does get released in the U.S., I'll more than likely grab a copy, even though I have the DC version.

Unless I nab a Dreamcast copy first!

I would rent it for a weekend and give it a go. See how it compares to the DC version. But I probably wouldn't buy it, unless I found it for cheap somewhere. One copy is enough for me.

I want it, but don't have the money to import the DC version. So, if it comes out for gamecube, then yes, I'll grab one.

It depends what games it coems out around, otherwise Zelda may be winning my money.

I'm fairly certain that I heard it wasn't coming here for the GC. The import DC version is very reasonable...seen it sell for $45-55 factory sealed...comparable to a new GC release.

I'm not sure if I'd get a Us release of it...probably, I would for the manual, but maybe I'd just order a spare manual from the company that released it if it came. I seriously doubt it will though, and the DC one looks BEAUTIFUL due to the game being designed for the Naomi/DC hardware. I doubt a GC version would be any better.

Ebgames.com sez (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/deptpage.asp?wherefrom=search&searchword=ikaruga) that Ikaruga's hitting our shores in April of next year. I'm not sure how reliable that info is, since the site lists Ikaruga as a "fighting" game.

Unless I'm swamped with games or strapped for cash, I'll pick it up. I'm still hoping that Treasure will throw in a story mode for the GameCube version.

EBgames is never accurate. Hell, I've seen them not even have titles in their system that were coming out a week later. No picture, wrong category = lack of faith. Maybe they figure that all games are fighting games? :) Since you "fight" other spaceships it's a fighting game, just like RPGs are fighting games since you fight enemies? Never try to understand the corporate..you'll go unpleasantly mad. Short answer...no official word of it's release on these shores at all, and EBgames just adds stuff that never gets released sometimes. Lots of games are in tehir systems as soon as their announced, and get taken out when they're cancelled, like X-Com Alliance and Lunar for PC.

My thoughts exactly. I think anyone who doubts the power of the DC should see this game in action. Not d/l a movie, but see it on a real TV. God, it's beautiful.

Hi guys,

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, as I too was looking forward to a US release of Ikaruga for the GameCube. Anyway, I have been informed that it is no longer being considered for a domestic release and to remove it from my order sheets. SO, if your holding out for a US version, I highly recommend that you grab a copy of the DC version while some are still relatively available and reasonably priced. I'd hate to see any of you hold out for a US release, and then when you realize that it is not coming, go and try to get the CD version and it be elusive.
