Okay, I finally broke down..... I got a mod chip for my 'large' PS2. :( I know.... I have no willpower.

So now is the time for me to get rid of my Swap Magic disc set for the PS2.

Any takers can have the following:

(discs were used only a couple of times and are SCRATCHLESS)

Swap Magic DVD Version 2.0 USA Build

Swap Magic CD Version 3.0 USA Build

Also included is the necessary Slide Tool, unless you're a fan of using a paper clip.

$28.00 gets these puppies SHIPPED straight to your door.

PayPal payments are fine. :)

IM me if you're interested.

How do they work? Can I play Japanese PSX/PS2 games on my PS2?

With the SM discs, you can only use Import PS2 games on your domestic PS2 console.

Not a bad alternative to having your PS2 modded for $110.00 (the amount I paid-*sobs*) :(

thats a bit expensive, new they are 18 and the slide card is like 4 bucks, and you get dvd version 3.0 which lets you force pal games run in ntsc ;)

These will also let you run some betas on your PS2. I say some because they didn't work with a few I tried for whatever reason. It's definitely a cheaper alternative to a TEST or mod chip.

Well, I'm factoring in shipping. Plus, I heard that there were some games that could only be run (I'm not sure which ones) with the older discs. If you don't use PAL games for your NTSC system, you should be fine.

You're right. I also heard that some beta PS2 discs could only be run with the older model discs, whereas the newer models are no longer compatible.

It's a shame that there isn't a complete list of compatible games out there.
