i'm surprised gamefaqs can tell what some of these older system games are, but define game gear obvious titles (streets of rage) as "action". anyone have solid suggestions?

Chicago Syndicate (kinda, more of a platformer)
Dragon (See above)
That's about it. You can get a Master System converter and expand a bit more.

Unless you wish to inflict serious pain upon yourself, I advise against it.
And yeah, Surf Ninjas falls into the category with Dragon and C. Syndicate. Forgot about it.
