I ask that people with the power to, Sticky this if they can. If not, thats also fine.

Basically... looking through things to add to the knowledge base, I realized that people never followed up to soultions. This makes it hard to figure out what worked or not, making it a bit.. "Uneasy" to add things as a possible soulotion into the knowledge base.

SO...heres what I'd like you guys to do from now on:

#1.) If you try a Fix... come back and tell us if it works or not, please.

#2.) If you already tried a fix in an exisiting topic, and it worked or did'nt work... but never replied... PLEASE try to find the orignal topic and tell us NOW if it worked or not.

#3.) Also tell us if you never plan to try a suggested fix due to certain reasons. DON'T Be embarassed to say so... I would'nt rip apart my Ody2 either just to add Atari ports to it, and most certainly don't have enough time behind a soldiering Iron to feel safe working with circut boards yet.

#4.) If someone suggests a fix... and you're just browsing and have experience with the fix and you know if it works or not, give us a heads up aswell.... thats the kind of back-up we need to add a topic to the Knowledge Base.

--- AND ---

Remeber, you can add your OWN ADDITIONS into the Knowledge Base with the "ADD CONTENT" Button RIGHT under the Technical Knowledge Base Logo. If you Can find it...Just Click HERE (http://www.digitpress.com/livefaq/index.php?action=add) And that should take you to the submission page.

Thank you for listening.

~Rocky / Danny

P.S. UPDATE SCHEDULE!

The Knowledge Base will get updates by me MONTHLY. Why Monthly?

BECAUSE:

A.) Better to do one huge load at one time, then many smaller loads.

B.) Time Constraints.

C.) Gives me time to look in weekly..and discuss fixes with the other Knolwedge Base staff.

Is there a place to make recommendations to add to the database?

We desperately need an entry or post on hooking up older RF consoles to newer AV televisions. There were 3 posts on that exact question this past weekend in the videogame forum. If there were a good entry on that, we could just refer people to it.

You just asked. LOL

Are there actually TVs out there now that don't have coaxial?

Would it be appropriate to use the knowledge base to post mods or hacks you made to your systems? Or is that something to be posted on a different topic altogether?

Thanks.

A question I asked earlier. Would it be possible to change earlier entries, either for typos or missing content? Also, is there a way to upload images to the archive? Or would you have to link to an outside image (is that even possible?)? There should be an archive of images of a technical nature, such as pictures of the insides of systems, that could be used to indicate certain parts.

I've answered this before...so....I'll answer it again.

#1.) As of right now... only admins can change items. You can PM *ME* on that matter with what you want changed or fix. Please...do NOT bother with small typo like details at this moment, just MAJOR additions or changes or important ones.

#2.) As for images? Only ADMINS Can **attach** items to the FAQ itself, Add them as LINKS For now.... a host such as IMAGE SHACK provides free hosting for images. ANYWAYS during the approval process, we will download the images and upload them ANYWAYS onto the server underneath the FAQS. So they'll be put up physically anyways. :)

#3.) As for the "Insides" just take pictures... submit it with links with a description of what it is for each picture, and well approve it as being tech info. :-)

If there are, they are TVs I will never buy - they don't pass the "could I easily hook up an NES" test. :)

I know it's not a fix or hack, but there's an interesting question (http://www.digitpress.com/livefaq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=58&id=10&artlang=en) about the DS that hasn't received an answer yet. (Read Kaliba's comment.)

I e-mailed Nintendo about that question, and they were unable or unwilling to answer it, so it was deleted from the KB.

I'm surprised there's nothing in there yet on PS2 issues myself.

I would if I could! I'm having PS2 DRE issues right now and been trying to track down links on fixing it around here, outside of using a cleaning kit. maybe afte rmy pc gets up and running I'll compile some DRE fix links for here. 8-)

I added about a half-dozen entries (most Colecovision-related) a few weeks ago, but none of them are in the db.

The articles have been added. Please understand that I have to go through and edit each article for grammar and spelling mistakes, and format it for the KB. It is not an automated process.

I am sorry that it took 5 days for your articles to appear.

Today I finished adding the latest round of submitted articles. Stonic, thanks for the Veccy articles.

Lots of open questions about which I am not knowledgable, so it would be great if someone wanted to tackle some of them.

Thanks!
